TOPIC | Hardest Final Boss Battle?
1 2 3 4 5
I've been playing Octopath Traveler in my spare time, and I've really enjoyed it. I finally made my way to the ending of the game, but killing the final boss is definitely not within my ability as of right now. In an effort to get my mind off of all the level grinding I'm going to have to do, tell me about the hardest final boss you've ever fought in a video game, and why it was so hard (whether a big, unpredictable moveset, lots of HP, cheap 1-hit KO attacks, just not understanding the game well, etc.)

Currently looking for:
avocado/aqua/sable male, preferably with nature eyes
Abyss and Copper XXX Veils
Ancient Fuelweaver (Don't Starve Together), hands down. He has like 3 phases and requires a ton of armor, weapons, and tactics (he heals a lot, too D:)

Pretty worth it since he resets the ruins upon death and drops 2 of the best items ingame (one is great for shadow farming then other is amazing for killing the nightmare knight)

I’ll say this for my friend— Roxas, Ansem, Xemnas, and basically every other Kingdom Hearts boss. Roxas? We were once able to get him down to a tiny sliver of health...and then he killed us (technically not a final boss, but...) Everyone else? Not only are they **spoilers, probably**, but they’re pretty hard fights from my observations (Xemnas’s weapon of choice? A lightsaber/buildings :P he throws building at you, no joke).

For bosses I’ve fought myself, not very many. Though Elder Princess Shroob was pretty nerve-racking with a pretty good theme (look it up: Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time- Final Boss Theme).

I myself tend to stick to relatively easier games, as you're not counting a bossless final area (yes, it's THAT cruel and yes, there are THREE) in this I haven't really fought any bosses that are too difficult.

Though as long as you don't pick Riolu, Primal Dialga in PMD:EOS is brutal. One of its attacks is essentially a OHKO, and it using it is completely random. There's no telegraphing of moves and nothing to stop it spamming said attack.

Similarly, Rayquaza from the game before it had a massive type-advantage to me, making the difficulty spike huge. I went from beating the boss before it in two hits to my massive overleveling not stopping the final boss from killing me in one shot.

Pretty much anyone in Cuphead past Inkwell Isle 1-1 is a challenge tbh. Bullet hells just aren't my thing.

Hollow Knight features having to kill many older bosses but stronger back-to-back in the final fight, that's pretty cruel what with the sheer amount of fighting, and the amount of attacks you have to memorize.

NAHA-*******-TOMB.

For a game where you play as a cute little kitty-bunny, Klonoa is ruthless. Especially when it comes to the final boss Nahatomb. For starters, he has three phases. THREE. And once you lose all your lives you have to start over again and fight ALL THREE PHASES. By the time you get to him, you’ll be so done with the Hall of Prisms and Ghadius that you’ll have lost all but three of your lives. And in two of those phases you can’t hit Nahatomb yourself, so you have to hop around the platforms (which, mind you, disappear) and aim at the five rotating cannons (which, mind you, go too fast). And let’s not mention the part where he eats you and you have to fight the face in his stomach. Let’s see, what else? He has laser eyes and the platform you stand on is constantly rocking back and forth. It’s just a real sensory overload for someone like me.

At least he gets a job as a waiter in some resort in the volleyball spinoff.

Probably Death in Chakan the Forever Man. Since you're fighting Death himself you only have one chance and if you mess up you have to start the whole game over from the beginning. If you want to use save states to beat the game I completely understand.

The hardest one I actually beat was Star Dream, no doubt. Kirby Planet Robobot wasn’t super difficult, but Star Dream’s boss battle oof’d me. It isn’t traditional Kirby gameplay, unlike other bosses. Wait, no... the Three Mage-Sisters in KSA were harder... but if I can get to Star Dream Soul OS in KPR... *shudders*

But one I cannot beat yet is Queen Sectonia, although I think part of that has to do with me being on my mom’s save file instead of mine. Like, c’mon, it’s traditional gameplay, yet I STILL keep dying...

Please, screech at me about Kirby characters or Kirby games. I love them and need to yell everything I know before I go insane.
