So here he is, my most spoiled dragon/OC Adrian: Since he's also a character I play in a real D&D game, naturally he has his own playlist which you can listen to HERE. Now as you can tell, he has a theme of very pretty, melancholy piano. I'm running out of songs to add, but I want to add so much more. I also enjoy this music quite a bit and love listening to his playlist while working. Give it a listen and help with suggestions? The music must be primarily piano but can be from anywhere: video games, anime, movies, composers, anywhere! Oh and they have to be single songs. I don't want to add an entire album or playlist. Thanks!

If you're open to classical music, go check out the works of Claude Debussy and Erik Satie! Debussy's most famous work is Clair de Lune, which isn't exactly melancholy but is very chill. For Satie, check out Gnossienne No.1 and Gnossienne No. 3. His other Gnossiennes (there are six total) and three Gymnopédies are all lovely too, though a bit brighter in mood.

Frédéric Chopin's (pronounced show-pan) collection of piano nocturnes (it's not just a dragon breed! lol) are also lovely. Here's a link to a collection of them performed by famous French pianist Brigitte Engerer. Op.9 No.2 is the most famous but is in a major key, so it might be a bit too cheery for your tastes. Check out the ones in minor keys for maximum angst!

Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff are two other solo piano composers who have works that might fit this guy, if you need more music. Hopefully some of these suggestions are useful!

Edit: I just thought of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, it would be perfect!

If you're looking for famous classical, I suggest Nocturne Op.9-2, or Prelude op.28-7, Für Elise (I'm sure you've probably heard of it before!) Would be great, too! ^^

Je Te Vaux is my personal favorite.

Two from my favorite video games:
Theme of Gwyn, Lord of Cinder from Dark Souls
Midna's Lament from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

A (mainly) piano instrumental from a gothic metal band:
Sirenia - Seven Sirens and A Silver Tear

A lot of people have heard the orchestrated version of Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition but I think the original version for piano isn't as well known. Here's one of my favorite pieces from the suite that has a dark and mysterious mood:
The Old Castle

Reverie is another famous (I think?) piece by Debussy and I think it fits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqXwzUW_fhM The other one I thought of was the middle part of this piece by Rachmaninoff - only the middle part though really https://youtu.be/I2GKgFZ_ioQ?t=88 I thought there were some in the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack, but it turns out they're on other instruments and I'm just used to playing them on piano [emoji=coatl sad size=1]

"Darkness still fell upon the cliff and the horn of the new moon vanished in the end behind the window of the wall as into a long-feared shelter in the Earth rich with the frames humility of God's memory and reflections. The stars in the sky shivered as they crawled once more up the fantastic ladder and into the void of themselves. They wondered whose turn would be next to fall from the sky as the last ghost of the crew had died and they alone were left to frame Christ's tree and home."
