Not an electronic restriction but on the last week of school (final week, no less) we can't bring any sort of back-pack, purse, or bag. Most people just bypassed this by bringing their stuff in lunch bags.

My school put a restriction on the wifi in my last year there which forced you into restricted mode on YouTube, whether you set it to that or not

However, I was able to bypass the restriction with the Puffin mobile browser... which they happened to have installed on all of the school iPads

I once downloaded music at school
Heckin’ rekted

A lot of sites were blocked though— even ones we needed for research. Who needs wikipedia? Not us apparently.

I remember when Omegle was fresh and new and we’d all just use it in the library.
Yep. I’m old.

they blocked flight rising

little did they know, when the warning showed up, there was a tiny ‘proceed anyways’ button

my school WLAN basically banned every site except google and wikipedia and German learning sites and stuff. So, yeah. We ocasionally play the dino-google-game.

• No spaghetti straps or whatever you call those sorta thin sleeveless shirts (that'd be reasonable to wear on a very warm day! i swear to god as long as they aren't revealing why
people dont follow that one anyways i dont think lmao
• I think one of my teachers or the whole school banned Pokemon cards, this was about 4th grade I think
• Not as silly and somewhat reasonable but you couldn't/shouldn't slide down the hill when it snowed if you didn't have snow clothes because you'd get cold and wet. I still did it anyways — Kindergarten to 3rd Grade

i swear theres more but i can't remember them atm

They blocked the auction house on Flight Rising. I somehow think that's worse than blocking the actual site, especially when you have sold/retired auctions.

My school is a BYOD school, and as such, we have a public wifi connection for those devices, and a secured wifi for the school-issued devices (like my teachers' laptop). When it comes around to state-mandated testing (ugh, why must we?), the school turns off the public wifi, on the grounds that it interferes with the online testing. Except... all the computers are hardwired to the internet for state testing. So, how is the wifi bothering them, except perhaps bandwidth usage? Everything on the secure wifi is fine, though. We can use our computers to stream, download, etc, so long as the firewalls don't block the sites we need. So.... yeah.... Makes no sense to me. And of course, it's always around review time, so no Kahoot!, Quizlet, or any of the other online things that my students are cool with doing. *shakes head*

Also, I do not get the dress code violations/bans. No spaghetti straps for girls, but boys can wear tanks with super-huge armholes, where we can see their chests and back? Girls get in trouble for shorts, but boys don't for visible underwear, as in, pants below the rear and exposing boxers? It makes no sense to me.

noli timere tempestatem. tempestas est res pulchra. ama tempestatem et gaude in pulchritudine.

My middle school had a rule that nobody could dye their hair any colors except the normal ones. (Red, blond, black, brown, etc.)

This rule was made after I came to school with bright pink hair, and they couldn't do a darn thing about it because they had no authority about what I did with my own hair.

Later on I still dyed my hair strange colors, because they literally couldn't do a damn thing about it. All the principal could do was give me a 'stern talking to' about following the rules. =\
