Very fluent in English, although I still worry too much about getting sentence structure and spelling right.
I started learning bit of Dutch a while ago, but I'm not that far yet. Though I can definitely decipher written Dutch, but that's actually common for Germans. Very similar languages.

Native English speaker, I speak some broken German (started learning in the past year), I also know a few words of Tagalog and I’m trying to pick up some more!
Both languages are languages I’m learning as a hobby, something to do and to keep my brain ticking over and because they’ll benefit me with work.
German grammar’s tough for me but I find speaking tricky too since I don’t have any German speaking friends and it’s only in the past month I’ve actually had the chance to practice speaking the language. The words are really easy to pick up though.

I have a friend who majored in linguistics and is fluent in English, Japanese, and Spanish and is learning Chinese, Portuguese and Italian on the side, as well as any other Latin languages he can pick up on the way. He's in Japan teaching English now. I wish I was that smart!
