Anyone out there own fishtanks? I'd be chuffed to hear about your fish and other aquatic/semi-aquatic critters.

I currently have a 15g with a dwarf gourami and rummy-nose tetras, and am in the process of setting up a 60g for a couple of fancy goldfish.

It's lovely to hear people get excited about their hobbies, so please come here to gush about your wet pets and let me be excited with you!!

I have two tropical tanks, a 30-gallon that has an emerald green cory, four harlequin rasboras, seven diamond tetras, and three glowlight tetras, and a small one that is technically the quarantine tank but is currently housing the male diamond (who is the reason there's seven diamonds, when I started with four). I did have a tiger nerite snail in the big tank but she died recently :( she was old. I haven't found a satisfactory snail to replace her yet.

And then my bettas. I have eight bettas, seven of which are siblings. The last one is an unrelated male I was going to breed to the best female of the spawn that all the siblings are from, but there was an unfortunate accident with a broken heater that took out that female ._. Now he's too old for breeding so he's just hanging out as a pet.
But I'm going to a local betta show next month so hopefully I can find a new breeding pair!

Do aspiring fish nerds count, haha? I'm brand new (well, somewhat) to owning fish and maintaining an aquarium, so I'm in no way an expert at this kind of thing yet, but in time I'm really hoping to get into the hobby of breeding, selling, and possibly even showing guppies. Now, I know getting guppies to breed is no feat whatsoever - put one male and a couple or so females in a tank and boom you've got fry - but what I'm really hoping to do is utilize selective breeding methods in order to really get the best out of a particular strain. Later on though, I'd love to work towards possibly making my own strain too since I think that would be a really interesting and exciting project. For now I'm just hoping to get the most out of the strains I have (or, will have) and sell the fry I don't plan on keeping for breeding later on. As of right now I don't have any guppies of my own, but, if things go as planned, I may be getting a trio (one male, two females) of full red albinos sometime soon! I was previously set on getting a trio of sky blue albinos but somebody outbid me before I got the chance to make an offer on them, unfortunately. Still, I'm really excited to see the outcome of the auction for the full reds, and am hoping I'm able to buy these guys! The image below is an example of what the male will likely look like. I currently only have two 10 gallon tanks, but I'll likely be buying a few more smaller ones to keep the fry in or separate breeding groups in the future. I just started setting up my one 10 gallon today and am now just waiting to buy some plants (most likely Amazon sword and java moss) for them, as well as an extension plug for all the tank's accessories, before it's all ready to go for the new arrivals. [s]Oof I rambled, my bad[/s]

Hi yes, I have been summoned.

I am relatively new to this hobby but I have a a 35 L tank with a betta, two albino cory cats, several fat black neon tetras and amano shrimp. I do regret buying the black neon tetras because I didn't know they were much bigger than standard neons when they matured, so oof.

My second tank is 30 L and I have just black diamond and blue dream shrimp there, hoping to breed them.

My goal is to one day get a tank with discus fish. They look so amazing~

I have 2 betta fish! Both in 5 gallon tanks, with big filters and heaters. Chester is 3 years old, and Floyd will be 1 year old in December. I tried to keep mollies but I didn't have good luck. They all died really quickly. I learned Bettas are definitely the best kind of fish for me to have. I'm actually supposed to change their tanks today, so I should probably go do that now....

I have three freshwater tanks right now. A while back I bred betta fish, so I have one sorority tank of sisters (20g long) from that breeding as well as their mother. In two other tanks I have the father, and the other has one of the brothers. Its interesting to have fish that are all related throughout my house.

One of my tanks is fighting algae right now. I just moved to a new house so I haven't quite figured out the lights for each tank.
