TOPIC | Thoughts on Colds?
1 2 3
I got a cold a week ago and my nose was stuffed for days. Not sure where I got it, though quite a few of my classmates at school at the time had colds and hay fever, so it may have resulted from there. I still feel kinda stuffy and I have a bit of a sore throat as of typing this. Colds suck.

What are your thoughts on colds?

They're frustrating and I hate them.

For me, every day is World Kindness Day. b59f9d9c-60d2-11eb-95e1-814ec59a413c.gifa663c882-026b-11eb-9626-db1f1f278684.gif
Oh man, I just love having a cold. The sore throat, congestion, coughing, sinus pain, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, constant lethargy... my favourite thing in the world!

Said no one ever.

I dislike colds. The stuffyness and the fatigue is the worst. This thread comes at no better time since I think I'm getting one. I've had to do a lot of walking as of late and I live in place where it rains a lot. The weather can't decide if it wants to be really warm or cold. So I'm consistently on/off with my sweater. >.<

Eat some soup, drink some tea, get some rest. That's pretty much all you can do... And I especially hate the stress with catching up (at school) afterwards...

I don’t think anyone likes colds. It’s no fun being stuffed up, sore, fatigued, and generally too sick to do anything. Even worse when you’re over 18 and can’t just take a day off without ramifications at school and/or work, meaning sometimes it’s the lesser evil to just buckle down and go in anyway (as long as you’re taking every precaution not to get others sick, that is). I don’t get colds too often, maybe 1-2 times per year at most, but the very few times I have had to call in sick since starting college, catching back up after missing even just one day was super stressful. >.>

I miss being a kid when it comes to things like this. I got away with faking sick a few times and was able to spend the day watching TV or playing video games lol. Even real sick days weren’t that awful sometimes because at least I still got a free day off of school and it wasn’t too hard to catch up when I got back.

Never be afraid to ping me!
Thankfully, I had my tonsils removed about a month ago, and that procedure really helps with this kind of thing, since a majority of the cold tends to affect and inflame your tonsils. Everyone here at college has gotten sick but me, muhaha!

Still, colds are ridiculously annoying!

That being said, if you do have a cold, take care of yourself! Have tissues on hand at all times, try to not talk to much, and drink LOTS of water to thin out the mucus!

I have a compromised immune system (due to various factors mostly involved with the treatments as I'm a cancer survivor), so even a "minor" cold can hit me pretty hard and even cause me to be hospitalized more often than not. So naturally I despise getting a cold.

Unfortunately, this also makes my best friend, girlfriend and a few other close friends and relatives extremely paranoid with me when colds are going around. They won't take me to the store and insist on doing everything for me so I don't risk being hospitalized.
