Hello I'm new, I remember seeing something about this somewhere but wasn't sure if it was just my imagination? I'd like to change the gender of one of my dragons and was wondering if this would be at all possible with an item or something like that?

I don't think you can change a dragon's gender, but with Scrolls in the Marketplace, at the Speciality's section, you CAN change their species, and stuff like that. :)

This was the correct place to put your question! Unfortunately, you can't change the gender of your dragon. There are scrolls for breeds, genes, age, and random colour changes, but not gender changing ones, sorry!

i believe staff have said there's no plans to introduce a full sex change mechanic since a large part of the game is about breeding and such a mechanic would make things easier than they already are, but "pose change scrolls" are a popularly-suggested cosmetic approach that has appeared several times in the Suggestions forum. you can add your input to such things there.

A gender-change scroll has been asked again and again, and the only people who could answer this for absolute certain are the site administrators...and, so far, it's been a "no."
It would be a nightmare to code, considering that the entire breeding system would need a massive rehaul in order to accommodate for every possible situation. People who are smarter about coding than I am have written it up in past threads like
this.
Short version; the current system is built in such a way that there's a lot of room for bugs and conflicts unless it was completely remade, and a complete remake would be too much effort for a single change like this. This isn't counting the community concerns, as it may result in a shortage of one gender in certain breeds due to some appearances being more popular than others (see female Skydancers or male Coatls).
An popular alternative is
Pose Change Scrolls, which would only change the artwork and not the coded gender. It would be relatively easier to code, as only the art would be changed instead of the fundamentals of breeding. I'm transgender myself, but I would vastly prefer only changing the aesthetic possibilities rather than an overhaul of the entire breeding system.
