I'm going to guess that Cake, Nightshimmer and AutumnLeaf are your main coli team? Please check out these guides:

At this point in time the coliseum does not reward an evenly statted dragon. By L8 your STR should be 43 and your dragons are barely over half of that amount. Element doesn't matter as much as speed and damage for a team of 3 dragons of about the same level.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
