I have a vision for my dream Lair leader, and this sugestion was given to me by one of my first friends here on flight rising:

As of now, there are 2 triple steel dragons on the auction house, one for 100 gems and one for 100kt (which isn't that much, all you have to do is sell some stuff and play the fairgrounds. With the gems, you can get a lot by selling stuff for gems) If you don't have enough, you could ask the user to hold the dragon for you while you get the payment.
Neither of them are lightning though, but it's possible you could get another close ranged dragon and rent a lightning nest at a nest rental service.
Also, both of them have tertiaries, but remove gene scrolls AND mirror scrolls are both quite cheap.

A scroll is something used to change something on a dragon. There are gene and breed change scrolls (for everything minus imperials) These can be found in the marketplace or the auction house.
You can find any nest rental service usually by looking in the items for sale forum
(Also, to get someone to see your posts, @ their username and it will ping them)

You could also look for dragons that are 2 or 3 colors apart with Steel in their range, and with other gem genes at the same rarity as Metallic and Alloy to try and breed a dragon close to what you want. This could bring the cost of the breeding project down to 30-50kt or less.
Primary gem genes: Petals, Iridescent, Crystal, Wasp
Secondary gem genes: Butterfly, Shimmer, Facet, Bee
