@grimgloom i don't know of a guide, but forum post (and signature) width is 525px. signature spaces are capped at 100px tall (98px if you use columns), while forum posts will vertically stretch to fit.
forum posts will also horizontally resize images if they go past the 525px limit, so an image may look fuzzy and/or squished, but won't result in a scroll bar.
