TOPIC | dragon naming question
I have a few that I adopted that came with names already, but I'd love to change them to something of my own choosing, but I don't see a way to change their name, is there something I am missing, or is that just not allowed?

You can buy [item=scroll of renaming] in the Marketplace for 6000t in the specialty section! You may have to wait for them to stock, though You can also find them in the specialty section of the Auction House, though they tend to be slightly more expensive there @sienna77

oh, well that stinks. Guess I will just leave the names as is, would rather save my treasure for lair expansions and more breeding nests!

@sienna77,

6000t actually is rather cheap in the FR economy. You can make 75000t every day within half an hour by playing Glimmer and Gloom on hard mode in the fairgrounds (This guide was very helpful to me and now I can reach my fairgrounds cap before I'm even able to get bored)

You can also use dragons to make profit. Exalting is a very profitable way to make treasure, but it's a little harder to get into. I recommend that you start by breeding and selling fodder at the lowest auction house prices (make sure you name the dragons first) to make some treasure while you work on levelling up one or two trainers (Here is a very useful guide for training up your dragons, as the coli only favours a handful of builds. If, however, you find Eliminate a little too expensive (though a little over a week of maxing out the fairgrounds should earn you enough), you can use the Sedona build instead, but I recommend you eventually move onto the Culex, or another eliminate-based build as it's much faster)

Once you've got your trainers to 25 and fully stoned and statted them, you can start exalting; breed your own fodder, or grab cheap dragons (I recommend 7000t or lower) from the auction house and level them to around 6 or 7, then just hit exalt and watch your treasure go up with each dragon you exalt.

Also keep an eye on if there's any dom battles going on, as they raise the fodder floor (cheapest price of fodder) and can make selling fodder more lucrative than exalting it yourself.

Feel free to ping/PM me if you have any questions regarding this - I know it's a nightmare to get to grips with at first.

@Allstohel, thank you for the information, but I don't like the glimmer and gloom game, even on easy mode, don't think I could beat it at hard mode, even with that guide as I don't have the patience nor the attention span. Which is why 6kt is a lot to me seeing as how I don't earn much from the games because it takes too long and I don't always have the time nor interest in those games, and sometimes my internet is too slow for them to run properly as well. Perhaps I will try some of the other games on hard mode to see if I can make more, not sure though as I probably won't get as far as with easy mode, so it may not end up being more profitable!

Doesn't seem like there is a lot of profit to be made on selling dragons, which seems weird that the best way to get currency on a pet breeding site is by playing games rather than actually breeding and selling. Would have to sell far too many just to be able to afford things like lair expansions and more breeding nests.

I am also not much of a battler, so don't know if I will get into doing much of that as I don't particularly care for that type of thing.

Where would I look to see if there are any dom battles going on?

@sienna77,

You can see all upcoming dom pushes on Dom Watch

Glimmer and Gloom gives the fastest payout; unfortunately the fairgrounds do tend to be a little tedious.

You'd be surprised how quickly fodder can earn you treasure, especially if you exalt it, but if you unlock all of your nests and then keep several breeding pairs (I recommend starter breeds, so faes, guardians, mirrors and tundras, as they have the shortest cooldowns, and pair them with dragons not the same breed as them so they'll be able to potentially have 5-egg nests) going, you can then wait 5 days for each hatchling to grow up and quickly sell the adults for 6000-7000 treasure each. Average payout for exalting a level 7 dragon is 10,000-11,000 treasure.

A few other ways to boost your income are: Bonding with familiars (each time they advance a bonding level, you get a chest that will contain some treasure, gems and other items.) and transmuting items in Baldwin to then sell on the auction house. You can also prioritise scavenging over all other types of gathering as it will very rarely drop eggs, which you can sell for a decent amount. Digging can also drop chests, and I find some items from digging have a reasonably nice hoard-sell value.

@Allstohel, okay, thanks for the information. That link says that Shadow is profit pushing, what does that mean?

@sienna77,

Basically, it's a dom push where they aim to make a profit rather than a loss - dom pushes can end up incredibly expensive (in ice vs lightning a couple weeks ago, ice alone spent a few million treasure on the battle) as people are exalting at a loss. Profit pushes won't raise the fodder floor too much as getting dom isn't such a big deal.

However, Earth should also be pushing for dom this week as their festival starts on the 25th and it's tradition for a flight to get dominance during their festival week, so it's definitely worth double-checking prices during that time. As it's not a battle though, they won't necessarily go up as much as they did, for example, during ice vs lightning, when the fodder floor was 14kt and up. I recommend checking your flight's dominance forums - they should have a dom hub that can explain everything much better than me, and link you to some useful stuff.
