TOPIC | Answered, thanks :)
I've been wanting to try my hand at adopts on this site, and I've combed thru the rules thread in that forum but from what I see questions aren't really been answered there. I was wondering if FR allows art (line work) that isn't your original work. As in free to use bases or pay to use bases that you've purchased and have permission to use, as long as credit is given to said artist? I love making adopts but I suck at drawing my own bases.
Sorry if this has already been asked/answered, I'm fairly new (a few weeks) and this is actually my first ever post here haha
Thanks!

As in free to use bases or pay to use bases that you've purchased and have permission to use,
This here's the important part! If you are allowed by the lineart artist to be using their lines, and to be selling things using their lines, then yes, you can do that. But you need to make sure you're following the rules of the line art most importantly! If the original artist says you need to credit them, link to them, or that you can make things but not sell them, you need to obey that. Undel's sticky in the adoptable forum says:
Art Theft: Art theft is taken very seriously. Reposting, tracing, or heavily referencing copyrighted works is not-allowed. If you are going to post an adoptable thread here, please use your own, original artwork. If you are using the artwork of others, you must have the original artist's permission and ensure that you are following their guidelines for using the art.
(I added the bold and fixed apostrophe)

@Ruruby

If the bases are free to use or you have obtained permission to use them (either through buying or written confirmation), then FR won't have a problem with it.
