I'm doing this as a way to get back into Flight Rising, I took an extended hiatus and want to get back into the site. This challenge won't completely be following the rules. My only requirements will be that Moralis will have an additional 100 hatchlings with different fathers (she's beginning this challenge with 29 already) and I'll write a small amount of lore with each nest. - I'm open to offers for borrowing studs! I'd love the challenge of trying to weave in your existing lore/characteristics of your dragon. Hatchlings will also be available to adopt. They're listed below. I'm open to offers for borrowing studs! I'd love the challenge of trying to weave in your existing lore/characteristics of your dragon. Hatchlings will also be available to adopt. They're listed below.

The matriarch of this challenge and one of the permanent dragons in my lair, Morlais is the most "complete" dragon in my clan's lore. She's the leader of a marauding group who take from traders who are using a mountain pass between Wind and Water territory. Morlais is in competition with Estel, the self-elected governor of the pass, who requires dragons to enter into "contracts" and pledge their loyalty to her clan - in order to protect the pass for travelers.

Morlais is a firm believer that Estel tricks dragons into servitude. However, she has no interest in overthrowing the other Guardian to free those who are trapped in contracts. Instead, Morlais wishes to tax those who use the pass. Although Morlais has never expressed interest in actually overpowering Estel, things are beginning to change. A difficult summer has put Estel's clan in jeopardy and the raiders had a long and productive thieving season.

This is a log of Morlais' attempts to recruit more followers into her gang.

One more day until they hatch! Super excited!

I should also mention that I'm thinking about these hatchlings as "recruits" and not little baby dragons. So... They're adults..... ? In a sense. I don't think Morlais would actually have her own hatchlings.

Recruitment #1 Caller's tribute dragons waded up the swift river. Their reptilian bodies sliced through the current and their powerful tails pushed them along. It had been two days since they'd left the secret grove and they each pondered their upcoming assignments with Morlais' group. Razer and Kimba, whom were a couple, walked ahead of Eoas. The two chatted happily with each other and lazily swam along while Eoas kept the majority of his face under the water. He had been upset for the majority of the trip and had protested their service to Morlais, because he felt betrayed by Caller. Suddenly, an arrow whizzed from the bank behind them and cut through the water. It had landed dangerously close to Kimbas's head and the Guardian reared back in fright. Eoas dove under the water, but the river was relatively shallow and did not offer much protection. Another arrow slammed into the water and missed it's mark - which was Eoas' body. He began to drag himself to the bank of the river by the rocks, his tail thrashing above the water to send spray up as attempted camouflage. Taking refuge in some overgrowth on the river, Eoas spun around as Razer roared her battle cry. It meant that they had emerged from the water and now the large female Guardian was blindly trampling around. He cursed her. "Oh, hey!" A voice called out from down the river. "These them dragons we was supposed to escort, right?" ---- "Morlais! We've got visitors!" Guntir cheerfully called, actually addressing the entire camp and calling attention to the three new dragons. He hummed as he pushed open the hall doors where Morlais was meeting with her generals. Scout, the Tundra, grumbled behind the Guardians. He was clearly agitated with his fur being fluffed. "You almost killed them!" Scout interjected Guntir's hum and pushed himself past the Guardians before Morlais. He whirled around, snarling in Guntir's face. "This idiot ignored my order and fired upon the recruits." "Ah, boss. I told you I was sorry. Can't you just let it go. Nobody got hurt." The Pearlcatcher smiled slyly and his tone conveyed a false concern for the mistake. However, Guntir was known for disobeying orders and testing his weapons by harming others. It was not unlikely that Guntir had perfectly understood Scout's orders, but choice to ignore them in the possibility of wounding an outside dragon. But Morlais knew about his habits. "I'd suggest you control your underlings, Scout. You're an embarrassment talking to your leader that way." She was indirectly calling for Scout to discipline Guntir. She stepped towards the three Guardians and eyed them closely. They looked strong, capable, and intelligent. But they also had streaks of fear throughout the three of them. They each held it differently. Kimba with his twitching claw, Razer by her defensive fin flare, and Eoas by avoiding all eye contact. They'd each eventually make wonderful warriors. "Welcome to the Great Hall." She said.
