TOPIC | Nuzlocke Question
So, I'm in the process of doing a partitioned Nuzlocke, and updating/adapting the rules to accommodate new game mechanics that came about since the old one was created.

The problem I've run into is this: Eliminate.

I'm questioning whether it's even possible to do a traditional Nuzlocke anymore with Eliminate prices being at *checks Auction House* 550 gems/579,000 treasure each. I've gotten two dragons up to level 5 with just Scratch and Shred. Back when Nuzlocke was created, Eliminates were a fraction of that price and it was just presumed that you could grind in lower level areas until you could afford at least one. I'm trying and failing to even estimate how long it would take to grind up 1.7 million treasure solely in venues that are Scorched Forest or lower, which is pretty much as high as it's safe to go without Eliminates.

How are people doing Nuzlockes handling the insane Eliminate prices? (And yes, I'm aware of the Sedona build, and no, it's not for me.)

Two ways as I've seen it; stay out of areas equivalent level or higher to your dragons, sticking in the zones you barely receive so, or, lots of little pushes. That may be fighting a group, then leaving, coming back, and leaving again after every fight that takes any heavy or slight toll on your party. If that makes sense.

That was the biggest drag of the run for me, but basically I invested into having a healer pretty quickly and then doing careful pushes into level-appropriate areas. I got up to the blooming grove by just being very careful.

Still, in the end I got pretty lucky and was able to afford one eliminate and then had another drop for me in the coli.

I guess that's really the only way to do it- hope one drops in the Coli eventually. Also, yes, raising one dragon as a mage makes sense. Once I have three Nuzlocke dragons again, because... haha... there was an incident. Both varieties of Puff outspeed a lot of Lv. 1s, so they'll attack as soon as they spawn, and if there are three of them and all of them crit the same dragon, congrats! You're dead!

I've had exactly one Eliminate drop in the past year of Coli farming (and it wasn't for the Nuzlocke), so... I imagine that will take a while.
