You find yourself once again in an ancient tower of shattered columns.
It was a still battlefield of a chaos faded with time; it was a song that became no more than five notes that, no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't shake. This was a place where flowers swallowed you in bliss but brambles clawed at the feet of marble giants.
You see the past play out before you as a lone, slender horn cuts through the branches and thorns, followed by a pair of eyes that were very nearly lights of their own.
You could watch the Pearlcatcher's thoughts on her face: Surprised, then remembering, then absolutely awestruck.
The first thing you notice on her person is that her pearl is less lustrous than it once was. On its smooth surface, you can see flickers of faded light-- Smiling faces, treasure beyond one's imagining-- all distant memories taking seconds to fill a bland ball held by a ghost of a memory.
Something awful happened to one of her antlers; what was once whole and rounded became a stump, yet still she smiled as if seeing an old friend. Her face was pure, exhausted happiness, unchangeable and devoted.
"Won't you stay for a while?"
