Her talons are covered in dark stains, and a few feathers flutter down from her scales. You gulp. She asks, scrutinizing you. Then her eyes light up, and she scrambles forward. She grabs your paw, yanking it close to peer at the crisscrossed veins. "Could you be the one?" The Imperial whispers. As she unclenches your paw, you realize that the marks on her talons are ink stains and the feathers are from hundreds of pens stuck between her scales. She glances up at your frightened face and quickly apologizes. "How rude of me- my name is Coriander. I'm the seer and writing apprentice of my clan. Come with me. Quickly!" Surprised by the old dragon's strength, you let Coriander drag you to an enormous, hollowed out redwood. Inside, dragons of all breeds recline of faded red carpets by a crackling fire. Some are scribbling furiously on scrolls, others staring dreamily into space. A mirror curses and crumples a piece of paper. The den is warm and sleepy, and a few dragons nod a welcome to you. Coriander leads you to a pile of cushions where a jar of ink is positioned next to a feather-plumed pen and and neat stack of parchment. Coriander smiles kindly, handing you a mug of hot chocolate. You must pay the entry fee before your name is put on the spreadsheet, regardless of if your story is ready or not.[/b] The winner will not chosen by random, but by skill by a panel of judges. Me, Ethiera, and Li3los will be judging. Each story will be graded out of ten, on: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT STORY/PLOT DEVELOPMENT ORIGINALITY SPELLING AND GRAMMAR WORD CHOICE You can earn a maximum of 150 points total (Graded by up to 50 points for each of the three judges). The raffle ends August 1st and the winner should be decided before August 15th.
