The thicket beneath your feet. And that tree... you could have sworn that you've seen it before, and not just once. You knew that you'd seen those glowing mushrooms before too. The light blue, luminescent light was intriguing, almost tantalizing. The laughter around you did nothing to help either. It wasn't particularly malicious, so it was doubtful that it belonged to a potential threat. It was actually more so childish and innocent, though, at the same time, it was anything but. As you neared the exit to these accursed woods (were they cursed?), you came upon what appeared to be a simple festival stall festooned with numerous flags for The Shadow Flight. It was the grounds in which The Trickmurk Circus was to be held. You could make out several dragons working all around this area to set up various stalls. They seemed to be enjoying their work, talking eagerly amongst themselves. Your attention, however, was quickly brought back to the stall before. A blur of movement barely crossed your senses a moment before. Before you now, on the other side of the table with a Shadowbinder doll at either end, was a particularly small Mirror donning a jester's hat. He tipped it once before removing it. He began to adjust his goggles as he fixed his gaze on you. All four eyes were a swirl of milky white, devoid of feature. A blind Mirror. Our big show may not start until the end of February, but we have many lovely attractions before and while the circus is in town. This stall is The Never Ending Story. My name is Kageraq, but you may call me Raq." [center]**************[/center] What [i]is[/i] a Never Ending Story? Here we shall work together this month in order to write a story in relation to Shadow Flight locale and circus going fun. When one person has posted their portion of the story, the next person goes in response to what happened last. For all intents and purposes, this is an RP. Please see the following post for a few rules. Starting February 1st, the story will begin with your host, Sin! It will be up to all of you (and I) to continue it by adding in your own dragons to this game.

Please, for those of you just coming in, review these before posting a response. It'll avoid any confusion down the line :) [u] [size=5]Length & Frequency of Posts[/size][/u] Each player may only post [b]1[/b] response once a day. In each response, players may only submit up to [b]2[/b] paragraphs. Please be reasonable with paragraph length. This is to avoid having one or two players driving the entire story. Likewise, it is to encourage many players to add in their say to the story. The only exception to this rule is the very first post to get things underway. [u] [size=5]Conduct[/size][/u] This RP/game is meant to be fun. As such, please [b]DO NOT[/b] argue with or badmouth other players for any reason, even as a retaliation to a player breaking this rule (I will handle it; if needed, PM me). Players who fail to uphold this rule will be asked to leave. Please try to refrain from using vulgarity and cursing. [i]A little will be tolerated, but excessive use will not.[/i] [u][size=5]Other Notes on Participation[/size][/u] This thread and a spreadsheet will keep track of participants. Each post will net the player [b]2[/b] tickets which can be redeemed at The Big Top Raffle. It will take place festival week. In addition to tickets, there will be other prizes handed out within this thread to the person who has the best post (earning the BPA: Best Post Award). There will be a top 3 for the BPA. There will also be some rewards for the top 3 who post the most! Additionally, be sure to check out the records section to see various stats like how many words have been contributed, paragraphs, etc! As the story grows in size, the summaries will gradually stop accounting for events further back in the weeks (to avoid super long posts). [u] [b]Summary (February 22nd-27th):[/b][/u] The non-fighters, lead by the Black Ops clan, are lead safely back to the circus grounds, though there are some metal Nocturnes that have to be fought off. The conversation between the fighters, Noctis, and Shiori, begins to intensify. According to the two, they simply wish to kill the group because they remind them of being abandoned long ago. Not only that, but they believe that calling forth the Shade will allow them to destroy the world and render it reborn. It isn't long, however, before the creator of the metal dragons, Felix, appears and puts a stop to the fight. According to him, he created these metal dragons, who were his clanmates) because he felt responsible for their premature death. At the forefront of the grand scheme lies a Nocturne named Chaos and his faithful talonok companion, Stone Edge who are Shade worshipers. Felix begs, throughout it all, for punishment due to his actions, but he is told to live out the rest of his life for his clanmates.

[center][img]http://www1.flightrising.com/static/layout/elemental_banners/shadow_banner.png[/img] [size=6]A Story Lasts a Lifetime[/size] [img]http://www1.flightrising.com/static/layout/elemental_banners/shadow_banner.png[/img][/center] Alright, without further ado, let's get this story started! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Raq, the blind Mirror, led you straight into The Tangled Wood. He had insisted on giving you all a short tour of the Shadow Flight's home. The mist all around had quickly obscured the path back to the stall and the Circus grounds. It was almost as if the mist itself had transported you, spirited you away. "The Driftwood Drag," Raq explained as he walked with ease through the murky woods, "We always tell our young ones an [i]interesting[/i] story to keep them from wandering to close to the river banks. Something about a monster rising from the depths," at this, he rose one of his hands wiggled all of his fingers. "Almost like the monstrosity tailing us. Do mind the dams." He had to have been mistaken though, right? No matter how hard you looked, you didn't see this monster. Only laughter in the distance returned, a crueler sounding one. He led you further until you reached the Wispwillow Grove. Many glowing mushrooms that gave off a blue light could be seen everywhere and lit the area up with a beautiful, yet subtle glow. You could have sworn that you saw Raq pick some as he went. He next lead you (still further) to The Foxfire Bramble. To a Shadow Dragon, the twisting forms of the roots present all around were a formidable defense and such a work of art in its own right. To everyone else, the thorns likely told you just how dangerous it was. How could anything live in that? The most fascinating part of the tour was likely the chance to see The Forum of the Obscured Crescent, the deepest part of The Tangled Wood where The Shadowbinder herself called home. However, the Mirror seemed to have a different plan in mind. Stopping the tour right on the outskirts of the Forum, Raq turned back to you all and grinned. "Now that the tour is complete, why don't we have ourselves a little game. A way to break the ice if you would," Raq said as he held out a single glowing mushroom. The glow of the mushroom caught his face just right, giving him a sinister look. "A truth or dare scenario, but we'll allow the vic- the one to be effected by the truth or dare to be chosen by spinning this." A bottle that went unnoticed before was tipped over and rolled into the center, spinning as it did so until finally, it stopped. "My dare, to start things off, is for the one the bottle chose to eat this," Raq held forth the glowing mushroom. "I promise it's healthy and won't hurt. The worst it will do will make some part of you glow. I hear it's common for the butt to glow." As if he were enacting a master plan of world domination, Raq grinned mischievously and waited for the mushroom to be accepted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Which brave dragon will take up Raq's dare and eat the glowing mushroom and what will they in turn ask?]

"Heheh...well I wasn't expecting to be first, that's for sure." He said and stepped forward a bit nervously. "Name's Raithe, leader of the Black Ops Clan of the Molten Scar." He took the mushroom from Raq. "Y-you sure this is safe...I suppose you would know best..." He gulped and swallowed the mushroom whole. The fiery mirror waited for a bit before breathing a sigh of relief. "Well that wasn't so bad. I dare the next dragon this bottle lands on to...stand on their head until the following truth or dare is over." With that said he spun the bottle, unaware that his bottom had started glowing a faint blue.

"Teehee, you do realize you're butt's glowing, right? Heh, anyway, I'd be happy to take your silly little dare~" With that, she set her head on the ground, wolf cape falling as she did so. She crossed her arms, tied her tail into a knot, and started giggling while staring up at both mirrors. She uncrossed her arms, spun the bottle, and said, "Well lookee here, I see a Truth! Now then, have you ever... purposefully used dangerous objects to prank someone? Heheheh..."

He grinned widely, lifting one forefoot and then the other, showing off his chocolaty fluffiness. "With something dangerous? Oh no! Never something dangerous! Now there was this one time I was babysitting some hatchlings, and I might have hidden one of their favorite chew toys.... Then we made a big hunting game out of finding it!" He reached his fingered foot forward, spinning the bottle and crowing, "I dare you to speak a great secret you keep! It's said telling secrets here means they will never reach the outside world again!"
