The three arrived to the station, with almost 20 minutes to spare. The couple waited patiently for the muggles to be distracted, and crossed the barrier, holding their son's hand. The boy had never been in that part of the station before, so he gasped. "Awesome...!" He muttered to himself. His father smiled down at him and ruffled his messy hair, while checking some pieces of parchments he carried.

"Do you have all of your things with you?" His mother asked, and he nodded quickly. "Books?" Another nod. "Parchment and quills?" Another one. "Thadius?" "He's asleep, mama." He showed her the tiny owlet, and the woman smiled a bit, and caressed his cheek. "We'll come and pick you up for Christmas, alright? Be good, don't bother your teachers and have fun."

"And don't worry if you don't end up in Slytherin! Though I doubt that will happen, but meh." The father added jokingly, and gave him a warm wink.

Her luggage had been packed and now all she had to do was find a seat. Evette suddenly felt worried as she looked around. Everyone that she saw seemed to have someone else with them, laughing and talking, even the other kids her age. Rubbing Calcifer's head, she walked slowly to the train door and stepped up into it. Looking down each of the hallways, she saw doors leading to the rooms in which students probably sat while on the train. Taking a deep breath, she put a smile on her face and walked down the left side, hoping to find an empty one. Though she knew she needed to make friends, she didn't want to start by barging into someone's compartment. They probably wouldn't like that very much.

Evette found an empty one near the end and opened the door with a tug. Once she'd gotten it closed, the young witch sat down on the soft bench with a sigh. "Well, here we are Calciffer, on a magic to train to go to a magic school." The cat yawned and blinked up at her sleepily. He stood up and stretched, tail tickling her nose and making her sneeze. The girl giggled and scratched the cat's chin. Try as she might, she couldn't help but let her blue-gray eyes dart towards the door every now and then to see if someone was going to sit with her. Everyone seemed to have somewhere else to be though since no one stopped.

It was time to ride the train, and Cain held his things tightly in his hands. He gave both of his parents a goodbye kiss and rushed inside the machine, peeking out from the window to wave at them. "Have fun Cain!" His father smiled as the train passed by.

The boy waited till his parents vanished from his view, and gazed at the small Thadius in his cage. "Let's find an empty place to sit." He said, more to himself than to the owlet, and walked along the hall of the train. Every compartment was packed with people, some older than him, which was scary and intimidating, so he moved pass those in the search of an empty place. He tried to avoid eye contact as much as possible, socialising wasn't his forte, and he walked quickly, scanning the area.

Suddenly, he crashed against someone tall, who was more surprised than he was and flailed their arms around, making him take a few steps backwards and brush against a door, that opened, and down he fell into a compartment, Thadius screeching loudly as his cage fell too. The boy quickly stood up and closed the door behind him, utterly ashamed and red in the face. At least nobody had seen that, right?

She'd given up watching the door in hopes that someone would enter and had instead opened her bag and began reading her new favorite book once more: How to Hogwarts: A Witch's Guide. It told her what best to buy and from where, how one could save money or books and cauldrons, and there was even a section in the back that had pictures of Hogwarts itself. What she truly loved about though was that the pictures moved. There were only a few moving pictures at home and they all had her mother in them with either her or her father, sometimes both. They had to be hidden most of the time though because of muggle friends and such.

Sighing, Evette stared at the pictures of the castle, watching the lake shimmer in the light and the water ripple from where the giant squid and reached out a tentacle a moment ago. Hearing noise outside, she looked up just in time to see someone fall into her compartment. She yelped and scrambled back, not wanting to get hit by the owl cage. Calcifer hissed, though more out of fear than anger, his fur puffed up and making him look twice as large as normal. When the owl had ceased it's screeching and the boy had stood up, Evette looked at him worriedly. "Are you alright there?"

He quickly picked up Thadius' cage and turned around. His blush increased when he saw a girl and her cat, seated in the compartment. Oh no, she had seen him fall! His shame increased wildly and he didn't really listen to her question, he only saw her opening and closing her mouth with a worried expression.

Seconds passed and he was frozen, but he had to say something, he was invading someone's compartment, she was probably waiting for her friends to appear. He swallowed, gripped Thadius' cage tighter and mumbled really quickly. "Sorry about that someone made me trip I'm alright I'll go now."

Realizing that he was leaving, Evette jumped up. "No!" she exclaimed with a wild expression. Her cheeks reddened and she looked sheepish. "Er, you can stay if you want. It's just me and Calicfer in here. Nobody else is coming." Wow, way to make yourself look like a loner Evette. Shaking those thoughts away, she put on a friendly smile. Calcifer's fur had settled and he moved across the seats closer to the owl cage, sniffing it. She watched him carefully, praying that he wouldn't start kissing or something after he realized that it was a bird. The black cat had done the same thing at home when birds rested on the window sill or bird feeder and if he did it now, the boy would most certainly leave.
