‘‘Long ago, four clans ruled the lake territory, Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan. They all lived together in harmony, respecting each other's property and traditions. Seasons came and left and Warriors lived their lives until ascending to Starclan’s homeworld. It stayed like this for many decades... Until— Windclan began to mysteriously break apart.
Originally oblivious to this predicament, the remaining trio panicked and with their worry came horrible experiences. Clouds drifted inwards and covered the sky for five moons, not a single scrap of prey was found... and kits failed to appear within the clans.
Many felines assumed it was caused by a variety of plague. However, others thought a powerful and ominous rogue somehow forced Windclan to divide. It was a mystery kept hidden... Soon after a famine lasting five dreadful moons, Shadowclan and Thunderclan gave up. They couldn't take the torture and hunger both they and their clan-mates were experiencing. The Leaders of both clans sent their farewells as they crossed the invisible borders, departing with a state of distress. The Medicine Cats attempted to resolve the problem but, even with their effort, it was no use.
So, the last clan standing was Riverclan. A clan with an extraordinary talent for swimming and fishing. The fish eaters sat in their marshy territories for another two moons and as they lingered, the rivers began to mix with a dark hue, staining their precious water a dark, forest green— reeds slumped over as leaves were covered in a dark brown substance— and bones of fish floated in the green water. With adrenaline taking full control of their brains, RiverClan quickly disassembled.
That was the end of the four clans. Yet after a few decades, members descended from the ancient clans returned, exchanging tongues and news. All sorts of unique breeds and never-before-seen sizes illustrated the landscape. Many with dilated pupils— many with sharp claws and fangs... perfect for climbing— many with flattened and glossy pelts— and many with quiet, stone hard pads.
Together they realized how well their special characteristics blended in with the unknown environment. Immense pupils belonged in the tall and mighty hills. Pointed claws and fangs belonged in the bark of trees. Neat and organized fur belonged in the grassy undergrowth. And pads harder than metal belonged in the dark, looming tunnels and caves.
So the cats resumed their busy conversations as the days continued to pass, deciding how to protect their souls as they travelled to their new territories as their intelligent and ancestors’ scents wafted and guided them to safety. Then, with their troubles ceased, the new four were born... Oakclan, Dawnclan, Fernclan, and Stoneclan... the new clans almost naturally took over the old territories, molding the old ruins of the originals into something unique. Though they were born out of the five giants, it wasn't the same without a fifth clan. A new ally it might seem but instead emerged something more terrifying: The Vigils. They swiftly snuck into the territory, sinking their claws into whatever land they could find and taking captives for their own pleasure and meal.
They were cats, kin of the clans they were befalling, but their diet was slightly different, instead, with a taste of clan-blood. The clans panicked, recalling stories of the first clowders and how they disbanded due to a mysterious force. Was it the vigils who took their land many generations ago? Why were they back and taking prisoners for their own gain and appetite? The new giants soon went into hiding with more duties being assigned to their remaining ranks; patrols had ceased and nights were spent cowering in fear as they watched their surrounds for any prying eyes.
Together, the clans must come together and figure out a way to conquer their enemies or the territories will meet the same fate as it did before. Will they rise up or succumb to the nature of their newfound visitors? Only time will tell.

- All FR rules apply

- Keep blood to an appropriate minimum

- No Mary/Gary Sues, God Modding/Power Playing; All characters MUST have flaws

- Please be at least semi - literate; Write up to 5 sentences, one - liners will be denied

- Felines MUST have realistic features; Unacceptable example | Pink, purple, blue, etc shades of fur.

- Please use the ‘warrior terms’ for cursing and nothing else!

- Ask the user’s permission before killing off a cat

- All types of LBGT+ is allowed; leave if you have a problem with it

- Fade to black when necessary

- If you’ve read the rules then place your favorite ‘canon cat’ in your form; I will simply ignore you if I fail to see it

- Two high positions per user(s)

- Have as many cats as you’d like; keep up with them!

- Ping/PM me if you have any ideas you assume will contribute and work with the RP

- You’re welcome to create small groups; not as big as the clans

- Mark down your cat’s name, rank, clan, and whether they’re open to interacting or not (In RP)

- Romance and battles are encouraged!

- I will reserve a slot for exactly two days TO three days

- PM me if someone is acting up; I’ll deal with them myself

- Your cat will be killed off if you don’t at least post for a whole week

- Please notify me if you're going to be gone for a while; I can't have anyone disappear instantly

- Don’t be afraid to ask questions!

The Code
Codes will be edited/added to

- Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

- Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

- Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.

- Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

- A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

- Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

- A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

- The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.

- After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

- A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

- Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

- No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
All injured/sick kits are to be abandoned IF the kit is from an opposite clan | Moosegroan

- The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.

- An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.

- A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

- Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

- A brief spotting of a vigil is to be automatically reported. Warriors are to stay on sight for three days | Cliffstar

Medicine Cat Vows

- A Medicine Cat must never fall in love or take a mate

- A Medicine Cat must never bear kits

- A Medicine Cat MAY ONLY retire when their apprentice has fulfilled their proper training

- A Medicine Cat ONLY exchanges dreams and visions with StarClan

- A Medicine Cat may only discuss dreams, prophecies, or omens with their leader or additional Medicine Cats at their monthly meeting

- A Medicine Cat will never allow personal feelings block the connection of his or her duties

- Medicine Cats are barricaded from Clan rivalries

- Medicine Cats cannot reject any injured cats
All Medicine Cats are to only serve injured/sick cats from their Clan | Moosegroan

- A Medicine Cat must be able to interpret signs from Starclan

- A Medicine Cat must give everything to save a cat

- A Medicine Cat must forever promise to serve and aid their Clan | Softtongue

- All Medicine Cats must inherit the skills to defend themselves from rivalry felines | Pinespike

- Quarreling and/or speaking of tensions within a Medicine Cat’s own Clan is forbidden; Monthy visits to the Moonpool are dedicated to sharing Medicine Cat knowledge | Jaywhisper

- Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.

- Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

- A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

- Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

- A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

- The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.

- After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

- A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

- Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

- No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.

- An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.

- Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

- A Medicine Cat may only discuss dreams, prophecies, or omens with their leader or additional Medicine Cats at their monthly meeting

- A Medicine Cat will never allow personal feelings block the connection of his or her duties

- Medicine Cats are barricaded from Clan rivalries

- Medicine Cats cannot reject any injured cats
