Domino nosed around the stalls, muttering to herself as yet again, none had what she needed. The Bay did not nearly have enough market places to satisfy the wandering Skydancer. But she had to admit, the marketplaces in the Bay were not as sketchy as the ones she had her eyes on. Of course, this was the Woods, anything could happen here. But one tip had led to another, and she found herself in some shady marketplaces bartering with equally shady dragons.
Only reason she came here; maps aplenty. Maps led to treasure, and treasure led to profit. And her clan leader was already up her arse about not making her dues. At this snail's pace of a rate, she was more likely to be kicked out before she even returned from this journey. Dragons of all kinds yelled at each other from across the market place, offering equally exorbitant prices for mundane things such as familiars or the common apparel piece. Domino huffed, giving the dragons around her scorching glares. She was debating going searching for another market place, but the sun was already setting below the horizon, and then the real sellers would show up, and perhaps, she would find something good.
Domino had always considered herself lucky, in both bad and good ways, so perhaps, her bad luck streak might end. She flexed her wings, mindful of the crowded spaces as she craned her neck from stall to stall, barely listening to the offers. She knew her key words, anything else was just a blur to hardly pay attention to. Gems glittered in the corners of her eyes, but she'd been around long enough to know that they were fake. Pricey, but fake. But, it was worth checking out and inquiring where they came from. Swallowing her pride, she stopped her pacing, and faced the stall with a grim expression.
A mirror looked back at her with a cheeky smile, throwing the gems in his hand and catching them deftly. Domino grimaced, both he and his stall smelled rotten, as if he didn't bother to keep it in check at all. Though she supposed, as she looked around, they were in the back of the marketplace. Not exactly the best conditions for keeping a furnished stall. She placed a talon on the table, which creaked under her weight.
"Where'd you get those gems?" Domino asked, watching the mirror closely.
"From the finest mine in Sornith," he beamed, brandishing his gemstones with a claw.
She leaned in close, flicking her eyes left in right. "And where would that be?"

Goddess was equally fed up with this place. She hated haggling over silly little things like clothes or trinkets. There were plenty to be had and yet they were being sold at ridiculous prices. Still, she was on a mission. She needed to do something for her clan, and this was the only way she knew how. Surely there was a prize worth having, and she could come back triumphant.
She saw the skydancer moving around from stall to stall, looking just as haggard as she felt. As soon as the skydancer stopped, Goddess felt like she was about to get bowled over by a sleazy salesman, so she made her way across the market to meet her there. "What's going on?" she asked.

Domino glanced at the Coatl next to her, smirking ever so slightly.
She gestured to the mirror with a talon. "This kind gentleman was just about to tell me where his precious looking gemstones were located."
The mirror snarled, clutching his gems protectively. "Now I didn't agree to that miss! Why I-" Domino flicked him a single gold coin, rolling her eyes. The mirror flicked his tongue out, side-eyeing the Coatl before glancing back at Domino.
"I told you it came from a mine, but you didn't hear this from me. These gems are a once in a lifetime find." The mirror reached behind his stall cursing under his breath as he searched for whatever he was talking about. Domino leaned forward to see what he was looking for, ducking under his maniac tail as it whirled from side to side.
"Aha! Here it is!" The mirror slapped down a sorry looking piece of parchment, drawings dotted the thing, seemingly clashing with one another.
Domino glared at the seller. "You have to be joking."
The mirror held up his claws, shaking them.
"No I swear! This is legit!"
Domino turned her head at the Coatl. "What do you make of it?"

"I would say his precious gems came from up where the sun doesn't shine, not somewhere on a map. Tell you what, sir. You let us get a good look at those gems... you don't have to let us hold them... and maybe we'll start to believe you."
She leaned forward eagerly. If these were actual gems, they could make quite a profit finding them on their own, if the skydancer agreed to go with her. She wasn't sure of either of them at this point, but she was willing to give it a chance just for the shot at an actual treasure mine. That would certainly catch her clan's attention, and for once she could be proud of herself for doing something.

"I agree with my newfound friend here. Why should we trust you?" Domino asked the mirror, stretching out her neck to catch a glanced at the clutched jewels.
The mirror looked at the map to the gold coin she had tossed him earlier. Grumbling, he gingerly placed the stones on the table, keeping an eagle gaze on the things. Domino mused to herself, the stones weren't small, and she'd seen enough fakes to know that the sheen given off the gems was real. She'd just have to touch just a sliver of the stone to know for sure. She gently picked up the smaller of the gemstones, the mirror's eyes never leaving her talons. The certainly felt real, and had the same weight a regular gemstone would have.
"I'll take the map," she said, placing the stone back onto the table. The mirror brought the gemstones back towards him, and eyed the gold coin once more.
"Give me two more of those and you'll get the map," he decreed.
Domino sighed, reaching into her coat pocket and pulling up two more of the coins he so politely asked for. She placed them on the table with quick efficiency before grabbing the map. "Thank you for your service," she told the mirror before he walked off into the back of his stall.
She turned to the Coatl next to her. "You seemed to have an eye for proving yourself, care to join me on wherever this map takes me?"

"That's exactly what I was hoping you would ask," Goddess said. She felt a thrill of excitement run down her spine. This was just the journey she needed, and now she had a companion to do it with. "Lets go see if this thing is real. And if not well... at least we have each other to comfort ourselves."
Goddess looked over the map. "It looks like we'll have to go through several areas of Sorineth to get there. I hope you don't mind a good bit of traveling." She gave the map back. "We might even have to face down some enemies. I don't have a lot of training in that, but we can fly over the thicker parts of the woods and such. By the way, my name is Goddess. What's yours?"

Domino smiled at her new partner, bowing her head ever so slightly.
"My name is Domino, nice to meet you," she told Goddess, flicking her tail towards the underbrush of the market place and started to move. "I can be the one to fight off any creatures we may encounter. I find myself to be considerably lucky," she said, flexing her talons.

"Well, I'm glad one of us feels lucky. Of course, I found you just when I needed to, so that's a stroke of luck. I take it you're a good fighter?" Goddess ruffled her feathers, plucking a pesky one out and tossing it to the side. She looked slightly bigger that way, which is what she was hoping for. She didn't want to look too weak. "I can probably help."
