The world we once knew is gone, lost to endless wasteland. It's unknown what disaster caused this, but it's left the world in fragments. Solitary cities lay on the edges, the last civilizations known. Now, explorers must brave the tundra to find what remains of the old world and to find new territory for the growing population. This isn't a task for the faint of heart, countless dangers lay in that vast unknown, from terrifying apparitions, to the mysterious and ruthless tundra stalkers, not to mention the danger of frostbite and starvation. Will you brave the deadly tundra and immerge a hero? Or will you fall, like so many before?

On the edge of the frozen tundra, by the shores of the frozen sea, lays Hiraeth, one of the last cities, and nestled within that last safe haven, lays Aphelion, school for explorers, for those brave, or foolish, enough to face the unknown.

Today the school's gates are swung open, students crowd around as the lobby, all chatting and gossiping. It's the start of the year for students at Aphelion Academy, and students are abuzz with anticipation.

Diemos watched the crowd enter from outside, quiet as he scanned the crowd. He had more interest in examining then interacting. Wearing a tight frown, he didn't exactly seam the most approachable, looking perhaps as though he were in a bad mood. This was the opposite however, as he had been looking forwards to this day for some time, his first day at Aphelion, his first real day outside the fairy's forest. Puffing out his chest a bit, he took a step forwards and into the school.

The school gates are finally open, there are many students chatting and rough housing and just overall having s fun time. There are more people here then Pax assumed. He avoided them and walked in, trying to not cause any attention to himself.

He had a rather meek looking appearance with his head held low and him clinging onto his books. Holding your head high and proud was a beg for a fight. Pax hated fights. What happened to peace? Of course, saying that would get you beaten up badly. He sighed and walked in to the school, keeping his head low, and began to search for class.

Damien shook out his shoulders. The flight here had tired him out, and his shoulders and back stick ached. He grinned slightly to himself, imagining how much worse it would have been if he couldn't have shifted into a bird for fast travel. Damien smoothed out his black half-jacket. He was near the center of the crowd, listening to small parts of other's conversations. His expression was collected and focused as his blue-green eyes scanned the students around him. He began picking off who he could and shouldn't fight with if they got in his way. There weren't too many he thought he should avoid. Even better for him.

As she walked up to the gates, Arabella muttered to herself. “Don’t interact with others. You are nobody. Too bad for her, she didn’t see anyone bringing along an adolescent griffin. Aeryn walked beside Arabella, sending that she was nervous. Every time Arabella stopped Aeryn would take a protective stance in front of her. As Arabella walked through the gates, she watched as some students fluttered about with friends, while others stood alone. She sighed before ducking her head and making her way towards an empty corner. She was not in the mood to see her peers reactions if they saw her face.

Deirdre walked through the gates with a mostly blank expression with a little bit of wonder slightly visible in his stormy dark blue eyes if you really pay attention. his right hand thats decorated with a few rings grasping onto his worn out light brown messenger bag filled with most of the things we would need. deir have been here for a few years already, soon graduating from lower levels, but this day still filled him with a soft joy and pride what he even got this far, considering everything about himself. guilt flooded Deirdre but it quickly passed on its own without deir forcing it away. he isn't new to the system or the school most of the faces in his class are still just nameless.

( will there be dorms or will the students live off campus?)

(Hope you don’t mind me taking initiative here)

Grigsby looked over the crowd of incoming students. So many freshman— this year would be rough for them. Hopefully none of them would crack. Or, those who did would be able to pull themselves back together. Many of the new students looked confident and sure of their abilities. Others looked meek and scared. Neither category seems to outweigh the other, thankfully. The two groups complimented each other well during exploration and battle.

Taking a deep breath, she let out a shout. “All freshman,” Grigsby boomed over the crowd, “Your first class is Tundra Strider Basics. You will meet in the large auditorium just down the hall to the left. The class starts in ten minutes. Attendance is mandatory.” A few students began to run while others simply strolled. Grigsby herself settled for a quick stride down the hall and towards the auditorium.

:3 feel free to message me, I don’t bite!
Sree made it to the building without much fuss. Every step he took had his natural swagger added to it, his talons hitting the tiles and raven cat on his shoulder adding to it. He wasn't exactly scooping out people he could talk to at the moment, which he should be doing seeing as he doesn't do well alone.

It wasn't like he was given that much time to look out for anyone when orders were given. Since this was the first day, and whoever gave the orders hasn't given the angel any reason not to like her, Sree decided to follow them. He followed along with the rest of the crowd, making sure not to step on the back of anybody's heels because that wouldn't end well for the victim, and he did not feel like dealing with that this early.

//Hey Azure, just a note- my username is Icyendercat not Iceyendercat so ping me with that if needed

Calamansi strutted into the school with her head held high. Despite her short stature and soft features, her eyes burned with an unidentifiable emotion that could have been anywhere between rage, determination, and scorn- or perhaps all three. It was hard to tell when it came to Cala. Her smothering eyes scoped out the crowd, already sorting faces into little slots in her head. Her impeccable memory occasionally picked up a familiar face, causing her permanent scowl to deepen for just a moment regardless of who it was.

(There will be dorms, though, if you want your character to live off campus for some reason, that's fine as well)

(And that's fine, Boborc, sorry about the late reply, some stuff ended up coming up with school)

(And sorry, Frost/IcyEnderCat/ what ever nickname you go by on here, I'll fix that-)

"Tundra Stalkers," Deimos muttered, he had heard those words whispered by his adoptive parents. The ruthless creatures that roamed the tundra, that ought to be interesting, he thought to himself. Well, he though picking up his bags, if class was in ten minutes, he was going to be sure to be their on time. He didn't want to be marked a trouble maker, certainly not on his first day. He had a long standing reputation he had built in the fairy forests. Always on time, always following the rules, never a step out of line, Deimos had sworn to himself he would be the most law-abiding demon in Hiraeth, and, he was going to stick to that.

Pax shuddered. He heard horror stories from his brothers about Tundra striders. It scared him so much that he didn't want to come here in fear of getting killed or worse. He shook the thought out of his mind ran to class, he made quite a few wrong turns which caused him to freak out. you idiot!! Now we're going to be late!! he thought to himself. How could he be so stupid? He looked around and saw a few other people by him. One had angel wings. Pax went a bit pale and tried to ignore them.
