These children possess heritages unknown to most, as they are the children of witches who have long since passed on. Some are related to the Elder Ones, ancient beings beyond the metaphysical realm. Some have been cursed, some have been blessed, but they all have one thing in common; their magick. Magick is uncommon in the secluded little town of Aspenhale, Oregon. The ones who possess powers such as these hide it from the rest of the world. They hide their heritage, their lineage, and their otherworldly abilities from the common eye. But, once a week, they meet in the Dreadmaw Forest to learn more about each other and the worlds beyond. However, a storm is brewing. An Elder One from beyond realms unknown has opened a portal to the Nether, where evil spirits and beasts roam free. These creatures are now able to cross over to the Earthen realm, where, if unchecked, they will wreak havoc and destroy the world as we know it. It is up to these children to close the portal to the Nether, but it will take all of their strength combined to save the earth. Can they save our world in time, or will they burn to ashes alongside it? They know that if someone were to find out, they could be killed or captured, so they try to keep it a secret as best they can. Evelina's mother teaches her about magick and the other worlds, and Evelina cherishes her family very much. [b]Personality[/b]: Evelina is soft-spoken but convicted. She will not cause a scene unless provoked, and even then, she will typically keep quiet unless something really bothers her. She is very sarcastic and tells jokes under her breath. Only the very observant will hear her. She is loyal to a fault and cries often about things that she thinks don't matter. She has anxiety attacks when she feels cornered or crowded. Since they are a drake and not a dragon, they don't have wings, but they do have incredible strength, speed, endurance and senses. But the increased senses can also be a weakness, as they are also more sensitive to loud sounds, bright flashes, and strong smells. [b]Heritage:[/b] Their mother is a Latina dark witch and one of the more powerful members of her family line, while their ma is a centuries old Greek drake who met her about 30 years ago and decided she was a part of her hoard. Luckily, hir mother wasn't exactly opposed to it. The top of their hair is long enough to reach their jaw when straightened. They generally don't bother with make up besides eyeliner and their eyebrows. [b]Clothing:[/b] Either homeless or hot, no inbetween. They usually wear various button ups (the top few undone) with leather pants or slacks tucked into knee high riding boots with a small heel. On other days, they wear old, ripped band t-shirts, sweats or skinny jeans, and their favorite, scuffed black converse. But no matter what, they always wear their ancient necklaces, bracelets, and rings that were given to them by their ma from her hoard and enchanted by their mother with protection spells. He's a highly intelligent, incredibly [i]grumpy[/i] familiar, but he loves Dami, even with how stupid they can be at times. [b]Backstory:[/b] Dami's mother owns the town pawnshop and their ma owns a small diner. Their mother teaches them about magic, potioncrafting, and the other worlds, while their ma teaches them about history and drake customs. They used to have an older brother, but he was killed in a car accident a few years ago. [b]Personality:[/b] Dami generally means well, but they can also come across as arrogant, selfish, and greedy at times as their drake blood shows through and they deem something completely beneath them or decide something is theirs simply because they want it. Outside of that, they are very intelligent (even if they seem to lack common sense at times) but reckless, as their drake heritage gives them a higher than human durability, so they sometimes don't recognize something as 'dangerous' by normal standards. Though talented in magic, their natural recklessness sometimes gets them in trouble as they try to cast spells their not quite ready for. @darlingdear everything looks to be in order except for one thing; their mother can't be the mayor, and their ma can't be sheriff because I was planning on having the town be like. magickal yet corrupt, as in the officials who run the town are bent on destroying the magickal communities within, so the magics-users in the town have to hide who they are from the people who run the town.

So, what kind of other heritage can we have? Beyond drake, werewolf, etc.

Would a were-cat or winged semi-human be alright? This looks like a super fun rp.

@DeathDino Basically anything mythical or otherwise, but your character MUST be able to hide it from others. Nobody in the town can freely be themselves as they naturally are. i.e. a werewolf would have to hide themselves when they turn on the full moon.

@SunflowerAspen A were-cat would be fine! So would a winged human, as long as they are able to conceal their wings easily.
