With the sickness of times past returning, the government of Thaelod has called forth a select group of bonded humans and dragons under the idea of a psychic's prophecy. They are now tasked in finding more dragons to bond with the government and the citizenry, as well as - though most certainly much harder - the cure for this ailment. Details and clues are few, for the government is otherwise evasive on such matters, but are keen on the dragon-bonded to get the job done. Those less willing have been promised great pay and great reward if they succeed. They are to meet at the outdoor library in the city of Wruuxdale.

Those who have not been chosen also take notice of the sickness's uprising, and as it has for some of the chosen, some of their own partners have become ill. Some are too young, too assumedly inexperienced to venture out. Some have other reasons for going on this mission, and some aren't as good-hearted as they seem. Perhaps all of the above. Regardless, these rag-tag bonded have agreed to meet up and plan how they'll be finding the cure themselves and first. They are to meet at the entrance of the town Cedar Glen.

Zyn Kiryu
Bonded With: Sarnor | Female; She/Her | Wruuxdale; Outdoor Library | @DeathDino

Zyn walked alongside her friend, a tiny spring in her however unsure step. She kept an open ear in case Sarnor required a bit of assistance with reading a title of one of the books they were browsing over. It had been a quiet morning so far, and Zyn hoped the uncertain air around her and Sarnor's situation would soon show itself as something, good or bad.

She shook her mind off the indecisive thoughts and focused on the books in front of her, looking over their titles and sometimes taking them off the shelf to take a quick look into their contents. She didn't mind the scrolls much. Whenever someone entered the space of the library, which was generally when Zyn sensed an extra pair of eyes on her, she turned to see who it was, but Sarnor seemed to have the pair of them covered. So, back to the books and scrolls it was.

"I think we're a bit early.", Kiryu said to generate a tiny bit of small talk between her and the white giant to pass the time. Her tone was fairly neutral, with a hint of nervousness in it. It wasn't all that odd for Zyn to be anxious when meeting new people, for she was somewhat self-conscious of her condition.

Concern twisted her features, truly the look seldom faded nowadays, at the subtle hints that the black drake was not at her best. The slight rasp to her rumbling breaths, the fading luster of her hide, the overall feeling of offness that only one Bonded could sense. "Peace, Kky," Aella murmured softly to her companion, giving the dragon an encouraging pat on her shoulder. "The rumors about this meeting have been the best leads we've heard. I promise, it'll be worth it." She offered the dragon a small smile, the hints of apology in her ice blue eyes. She knew Kkyrann was not fond of cities, for neither was she, nor that the dragon was keen to show any sort of weakness. To have to present herself to others while anything but perfect no doubt frustrated the dragon... But Aella's herbs could only do so much to stay the illness that had taken root. Myrrh and rosemary would not help them now. Only a cure would. And Aella would give her life trying to find one before she let Kkyrann endure the suffering of the illness. Yet save for a few townsfolk stopping to gape at them, the fields leading to Cedar Glen were bare. Were they the first to arrive? Aella was certain the information had said to meet at the town gate, not within the town itself. She scanned the area for anyone who looked expectant rather than awed, hoping perhaps to find someone she could approach for more information. But either they were hiding, or simply weren't there. A small huff of dismay left her lips and she turned her gaze to the skies instead, seeing if she might instead spot another arrival.

They were everywhere! Wruuxdale was utterly bustling with humans. They scuttled in and out of alleyways noisily, had strange animals tow wagons filled to the brim with who-knows-what, and swarmed marketplaces like half-starved rats—it was absolutely hectic. But what Khione was not able to stomach the most was their stares. Oh, they were devastating. Granted, Khione noticed the girls also staring at Elkin, but Khione was just about sure that they were ogling him for different reasons. The gazes Khione acquired from the townsfolk, however, ranged from bewilderment to inhospitable to downright fearful. He could feel dozens of eyes scurrying across his twirling body like ants. The sickness had undoubtedly made him more anxious—after a while, it became too overwhelming, and Khione asked Elkin if they could wait at the library's entrance. "Goodness, most humans sure love to stare, hm?" Khione smiled drowsily at Elkin, trying to remain optimistic despite the illness worsening. He hoped Elkin couldn't sense how weak he felt. The last thing he wanted was for the boy to worry—he was merely fifteen, after all. "Let's hope the others will be here soon." Khione wrapped his twisty body around one of the stone pillars of the library's entrance. The stones felt alarmingly hot against his ice-cold skin. Khione maneuvered his neck into a position where Elkin could rest on it. He knew the boy liked that and presumed he must've also been tired from all their rigorous traveling. The pair had adventured down from the snowy mountains and across vast tundras in order to meet up with the others. Khione closed his tired black eyes to rest, and felt the sunlight warm his long face.

It was one thing he was glad not to have felt until now, and in that regard he absolutely adored bundling up in the softer hairs of beautiful mixtures of color about his companion's neck. Though he clutched it and kept close to it, sniffing softly at the pleasant aroma that woke him up every morning, he occasionally rose to look around Wruuxdale with curiosity and as an escape from the underlying illness. He didn't want to tarry very long with that in his mind, occasionally leaning forward in the hopes of urging Khione to speed onward, but every now and again he'd find himself turning longingly in another direction to get a peek of the shops and taverns. Boy, did he crave a good drink! The mere thought of it made him lick his lips, washing the pale skin over in a fresh coat of wetness marked with saliva. He smiled at the people who passed by, giving polite waves to them, grinning at the girls who stared at him. Each time one appeared quite fretful to his ride, however, he gave a subconscious pat to reassure Khione. He chuckled softly in response to the little quip of his dragon and nodded slowly before burying his head back into the seemingly white strands. " We don't know a-any better - 'specially w-when we see something so big and frightening!" He replied with a lower giggle, playfully tussling with his companion's fur. He flicked out a couple dry, dead hairs, grooming Khione while sniffling. Aye, the presence of the ailment was growing stronger, but, hopefully, it would be mended soon. His grip tightened once more when the serpentine body of his partner began to coil about the pillar, thankfully resting his body right back against his neck once Khione was situated again. Gods, yes, he was fairly tired - yawning softly into the hide - but quite enthusiastic to get going. He straightened his back out and peered over eagerly towards the library, raising a hand hesitantly once noticing Khione's eyes disappear under lids. [emoji=butterfly 2] Morpha [emoji=butterfly 2] Bond- Clarisse | Female | Wruuxdale Library ----- Morpha landed heavily on the cobblestone road that led up the the entrance of the library and let out a small, 'uff' as she landed. She extended an upper wing to be like a ramp to let Clarisse slide down. Once Clarisse had, Morpha picked up her wing and shook all four out before having to catch herself from falling because of her absence of front legs. She carefully fitted the two pairs together to look like one, and propped herself up to talk with Clarisse, "Well, I'd say we're not the first ones here." She said, looking over at the pillar with a rather furry white dragon wrapped around it. They looked as though they were sleeping. "I don't think we're late, but at least our greenhouse wan't too far from here." She chuckled sightly and cleared her throat of the frog that was beginning to settle there. Well, shall we go inside? Maybe we can find a few more herbology books to read, and maybe we can even find some of your mothers work." Morpha started up the stairs to the entrance and ducked inside carefully. She turned to see if Clarisse was following, but it turned out that she had lazily flopped onto Morpha's tail-fan and was being dragged along with Morpha. Morpha rolled her eyes and swept inside, looking around to see if anyone else was in here, the library seemed empty. Morpha hefted her tail and Clarisse in front of her and allowed Clarisse to get off and look at the plant books, while Morpha went and looked for any meetings on case she had missed that they were supposed to meet somewhere specific inside the library. She wandered around for a little bit, then fluttered up to the second floor which looked over the main one, making sure once she landed to keep her wings tucked together. She started feeling more energized and excited, and began speeding through book titles. Her movements got more snappy and erratic, and she had to tell herself to calm down. With Morpha's aura almost completely wore off, Clarisse began whispering to herself the names off all the different books and start a conversation with herself about which ones she should read. She eventually got bored and started wandering the library looking for something to do when she stumbled upon a massive white dragon and who she assumed must be their bonded human. "Hi there!" She whispered to them. "Do either of you know anything about a meeting that's supposed to be taking place in about-" She looked out a nearby window for the time. "Oh, right now. Wow, time flies." ----- ((Edit- I swear I'm literate, I just need to not write near midnight :'D)

Morpha landed heavily on the cobblestone road that led up the the entrance of the library and let out a small, 'uff' as she landed. She extended an upper wing to be like a ramp to let Clarisse slide down. Once Clarisse had, Morpha picked up her wing and shook all four out before having to catch herself from falling because of her absence of front legs. She carefully fitted the two pairs together to look like one, and propped herself up to talk with Clarisse,
"Well, I'd say we're not the first ones here." She said, looking over at the pillar with a rather furry white dragon wrapped around it. So carry me from these walls, brother of mine. Show me the world outside, it has to be true. I'm counting on you to be my wings and my eyes.

Zyn Kiryu
Bonded With: Sarnor | Female; She/Her | Wruuxdale; Outdoor Library | @DeathDino / @Spo0Okycrypt / @Zorua345

Once she Zyn began to read off the titles and authors of three of the books she was handed to by Sarnor. It was a small challenge to see the titles without dropping a book, but the pupil managed to take a glance at two of the uppermost books. "Let's see... The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Carne, A Field Guide to Entomology by Harry Carter, and A Collection of Poe-" She stooped once she felt her partner's tail draw closer to her, and Kiryu's eyes darted from the books and towards whatever she assumed Sarnor noticed.

It took a few moments for Zyn to spot them, but she did eventually, a long, pale ivory dragon curled around one of the entrance pillars with a young boy resting on it's neck. A calming scent of pine, snow, and peppermints drifted into Kiryu's nose now that she took the time to think about her surroundings. "Think they're part of the-" She went to whisper to Sarnor, but was cut off by an upbeat contralto's inquiry. Kiryu turned towards the voice excitedly, obviously glad to see someone else from the group here. "Yes, actually! I'm Zyn Kiryu, one of the other people assigned to this group. Glad to meet you."

Kiryu smiled politely at the tall ginger, and did her best to outstretch a hand for the woman to shake through the large amount of books she was carrying. Her scrawny physique was absolutely dwarfed by all the dragons and overall heightened individuals, but Zyn did not appear phased or intimidated in the slightest. She actually seemed to be having quite the grand, but confusing, time.
(I tried, my brain died halfway into the third paragraph so there ya go. Hope it's good for now! "^^)

Angelo had just bought a new pair of trousers, gem-encrusted boots, and a silk cloak—along with many other small trinkets he'd unearthed in Cedar Glen's market. Griffin watched the human boy admire his purchases as he stroked the fabric curiously. The pair had just arrived at Cedar Glen in the morning and Angelo was very eager to change out of the foul-smelling clothes he'd traveled there in. "Hm... do you think it'll look good? It might be a little too small..." Angelo chirped, looking at Griffin for approval. He wanted to be dressed well when meeting the others gathered at Cedar Glen to find the cure. It was the first lead Angelo and Griffin had in months, after all, despite rigorous adventuring. They needed everything to go smoothly. You see, Angelo had been traveling from village to village with Griffin for years, searching for a cure. It was his dream to go down in history as the man who discovered it. This wasn't the first time the pair stumbled across a rumor of a lead—and it was very rare that those sort of rumors ended up being true. Angelo fastened the silk cloak, concealing his shortsword—it wasn't the first time a rumor had lead to the pair being ambushed either.
