Winter || Tsunami Flats || Talonok/Harpy Border

The young warrior sat near the edge of the Highland Scrub, the tide of her domain still sounding faintly behind her. Normally, Winter would be training or fighting, but the fighting had been at a bit of a low point recently. Her mentor called it “the calm before the storm”. Winter didn’t really care; in the end, she was free, and that’s all that mattered.

Today had been rather boring and uneventful. It was a clear but windy day in Talonok land, and the smell of the sea was fresh on her scales. The wind brought in some rather chilly air to her post. She could see a storm brewing in the distance, but that was expected in the former lightning domain. A little rain would be a nice way to break up her dull day so far.

Nebula || Reedcleft Ascent || Centaur Territory

As much as she didn’t want to admit it, Nebula was lost.

She’d been sent on a scouting mission into serthis, although she now was very obviously in centaur. The only problem was, everything in wind looked exactly the same. Green, check. Bamboo, check. Windy, double check. She could be in the Zephyr Steppes, going in circles, or not going anywhere at all.

She just hoped no Centaurs found her. They were supposedly friendly... right?

The Talonok Tribe were not happy with his presence, regardless of whether or not he’d actually entered the water. Unfurling stormy-colored, shimmering wings, the Wildclaw took to the air. He flew to a small island off the shore. It wasn’t within Talonok territory, but it wasn’t quite former-Shadow territory either, save for the pine trees and small mushrooms that grew on the isle. Aydin <> Zephyr Steppes <> Centuar Clan

WWWThe Zephyr Steppes were courteous to wounded dragons, for only slight breezes dwelled here, making it a perfect place for Aydin to start regaining his flight. Although his wings were fully healed from the last fight his clan had taken part in, it had taken months for them to be stable enough for such endeavors, albeit small ones.

WWW"Oh, the glory days. Back when I was a warrior. Hah, I don't miss it either. The clan needs to be fed some way or another," Aydin said, chuckling slightly. There was seemingly no one around to hear him, and here he was reminiscing as if he was telling a good friend about his adventures. Aydin let out another series of laughs, steadily walking into the small cavern that was his bakery.

WWWInside the hollowed out area was a small table, handcrafted by the Imperial during his long tedious recovery. He silently went to the back of the store, where there was a crude passageway, which led to a large cavern, filled with all of Aydin's belongings, which wasn't much. A large straw mat was in the corner, on top of which was several different leather scraps, which was used as a blanket.

WWWIn the corner sat a set of aromor, covered in rust and dried patches of velvet. Aydin had worn this once, but he hadn't found a use for them at all, and supposedly neither had the clan, for they didn't take the old set back.

WWWAydin trudged back out of his cave, proceeding to move around the back, where he had a hand-crank operated machine used for grinding flour, and a kilm used for baking. He was given ingredients everytime he asked the dragons in charge of running the food storage, as they knew he was the primary source of bread and sweets, coming in the form of pastries and marzipan.

(Marzipan is a sort of sweet dough, formed into little balls, or sometimes edible sculptures, painted with food dye, glued together with sugar paste, or almond paste.)

Alden || Highland Scrub || Somewhat near the Harpy/Talonok border

Alden trotted along the barren landscape. His small legs were somewhat tired from walking all morning. However, walking seemed to help clear his mind once and a while. His eyes skimmed towards the border. He seemed to still be a safe distance away.
The small imperial sat, taking a break and looking around the landscape.

Aydin <> Zephyr Steppes <> Centuar Clan

WWWAydin silently grabbed a shaft of wheat, breaking the grain of the tips, scattering them in between the flat stones that made up the grinder. He solemnly took the hand-crank, turning it slowly as to not send flour and ungrounded grain flying. The grinder made a low crackling sound, along with the scraping sound of rock. Aydin always worried about doing so, as it could be heard throughout the centuar clan, except for near the screeching vortex, where most sounds were drowned out, if not barely audible.

Winter w/ Zodiac || Tsunami Flats/Highland Scrub || Harpy/Talonok Border

The weather might be playing tricks on her, but Winter thought she saw another dragon in the distance. They were definitely in Harpy territory. She couldn’t quite tell what they were doing, but they didn’t appear to be antagonistic... still, why risk it? Maybe they would bring some excitement to her day, maybe they wouldn’t. Who knows.

Winter sank low to the ground, her blue scales hopefully disguising her fairly well against the backdrop of the sea. The other dragon didn’t appear to notice her. Good. Even if they did see her, she probably wouldn’t be considered a problem, due to her overall unthreatening stance and demeanor. Just a warrior doing their shift on guard. They couldn’t hold that against her, right? Besides, if they were so close to Talonok territory as they were now, they were probably a guard, too.

Nebula w/ Aydin || Entering Zephyr Steppes || Centaur Territory

The tiny fae wandered aimlessly throughout the green landscape for a while before a horrid sound ground against her ears. She winced, her flaps folding to hopefully cover her ears from the onslaught. It was a sound like stone against stone. Although she wanted to get away from it - far away from it - that was her only lead on other dragons. So of course she had to go towards it.

She reached a cave that seemed to be the source of the sound. Makes sense; where else would you find rocks but a cave? Cautiously, she poked her head into the cavern to see what was going on. All she saw was an imperial grinding some sort of grain. Probably just a baker. Probably harmless.

“Erm, excuse me,” she started shyly, trying to fluctuate her voice as much as possible. “Do you have a map I could borrow for a quick second? As it happens, I’m supposed to be leaving for a scouting mission right quick, but I’m a bit lost at the moment.” She added a nervous laugh at the end. She wasn’t lying, per say...

Aydin w Nebula <> Zephyr Steppes <> Centuar Territory

WWWAydin stopped grinding, looking up at the dragon who stood before him, asking for a map. She was smaller than him, for certain, as she was a fae.

WWW"Ah, hello there. I'm sorry, I don't have a map. I suppose the leader took it once I was retired from my position as a soldier, to be used for a new recruit," Aydin cooed, ushering the dragon through the back passageway. He hoped she wasn't startled by his former warrior status, or his massive scars, littering his scales. "Don't mind the armor, I'm not in the position to use them anyways."

WWWHe hoped she didn't notice the sword he had lying in the back most corner. Aydin didn't want to be thought of as a threat by this lost dragon, as he wanted to help her with all of his heart.

His eyes glazed over in thought. He could use some exercise. A brief flight over the Talonok territory never hurt anybody. Besides, he could just say he was lost to avoid getting in trouble. A white lie never hurt anybody anyway. He picked himself up, grabbing his bow. The Wildclaw unfolded his shimmering wings once more and took off, heading towards the bright horizon. The drafts were strong enough that he could glide comfortably without worry of falling into the waters below. Perfect.

Nebula w/ Aydin || Zephyr Steppes || Centaur Territory

Nebula was a little confused at his claim. No map at all? What kind of dragon doesn’t have a map somewhere in their house? However, she remained silent. Maybe it was just a Centaur thing? In the Harpy clan, every dragon had a map in their house - multiple, in fact, so that they could know every little thing of every precise region. Of course, Nebula was never good at geography, hence how she came into this situation.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the sword and the armor, but didn’t comment on it. It seemed a little odd to her that this dragon had his map taken away but kept his armor and sword, but again, she just chalked it up to Centaur customs. The sword didn’t really bother her, though; by her reasoning, if this imperial wanted her dead, he could easily just grab her throat and break her neck in seconds. Not a pleasant thought.

Nebula craned her neck a little to get a good look at what he was doing. “Do you need any help with that?” She asked nicely, although she actually had no idea what it was. She’d concluded that it had something to do with food, or he could be grinding up the ingredients for some potion or poison.
