We all know Flight Rising is in a lot of trouble. Economy's crashed, rare breeds cost less than 20k in AH, site lags and crashes all the time and there's a ton of fixes and new options and games yet to be implemented. Users are really frustrated and not very interested in pouring time, effort and money in the site. I'm in belief that the reason why it takes ages to develop Flight Rising is because there's not enough money which is understandable - the site was funded with a Kickstarter in the first place and gets most of its income through ad revenue in the moment. The heated discussion about blocking scripts has brought to the surface a lot of frustration many users have with the lagging, grindy site.
I have no idea if Kickstarter has some kind of rule that prevents funding the same project twice or something similar (if you have any knowledge about this please do enlighten me!) but if not, couldn't the FR team just set up a new Kickstarter and gather more money via it? Flight Rising is hot stuff right now and there are a ton of people who would like to join right now (and essentially bring more money to the site) but they can't. FR really should get the registration up as quickly as possible before people lose interest and this site cools down as a temporary trend instead of enforcing and stabilizing a steady, growing user pool. Kickstarter could allow opening up the registration again (at least for a short while), and I'm pretty confident that there would be support from the existing players.
Kickstarter exclusive items, apparel and familiars could all stir up some interest. A new dragon breed,
This is a pretty bold suggestion and I'm truly sorry if I stepped on someone's toes with starting this thread. I don't have the information if it'd be possible to make a new Kickstarter, but I'd like to have some discussion if it could even be a clever move or not and would people support the new Kickstarter. I know I would.
EDIT/ I edited the suggestion of imp scrolls out because it was not a good idea and not the point of this discussion at all.
EDIT2/ This is a necro'd suggestion and will not happen. I don't think bringing this up is relevant anymore, which is why I've added a strikethrough to the original text. I decided to leave the text as it was in any case, since I don't believe in ''erasing one's virtual footprints'' in this case.
