TOPIC | Public Hoard Display Option
1 2 3 4 5
I glanced over the list of compiled suggestions and didn't see this, so I figure I may as well mention it. I apologize if I missed it somewhere in the list. Background, aka why this is useful: Currently, if you wish to display your entire hoard (such as for a sales thread), you have to either type out the code for each item individually or screenshot each page individually, then upload the screenshots to a site like imgur, and finally link each image individually (or you can link the page with all of them, but that might be less effective for people who can't visit external sites for some reason or another, among other possibilities). When you get a lot of items, this can be 50+ pages to screenshot and probably thousands of items to type out individually. Even once you finish either of those methods, it becomes outdated very quickly as soon as you do anything. In particular, Coliseum battling and Gather Items will add a lot of items at once and can require most or all of it to be redone. The Idea: Create an option that members can set, either to "public view" and "private view" or "public hoard", "public vault", "public hoard and vault", "private view". It could also be a third area created specifically for this which is what will be displayed, potentially called "display case". Anything set to public can be viewed by anyone by using a url along the lines of http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=hoard&id=51988 (similar to Dragon Lair, you just add "&id=#####" after the "?p=hoard". If and when this is first implemented, it is important that the default is set to private for all members. Some people may not want others to see their hoard, so this prevents people from looking through it before that person comes online, notices the new change, and turns it to private. Similar to Dragon Lair, you would obviously not have the ability to do anything other than look when in a hoard that is not your own. This would allow people who want to make a hoard sale thread (among other uses, such as just showing stuff off) to simply post one on-site link that would be consistently accurate and fairly easy to navigate. Anyone who does not like it can simply keep it turned off and lose nothing. It is also a good way of being able to verify someone actually owns the items they claim to, as screenshots (in particular for huge amounts of stacks of one item, like 100 Water Sprites which was used as part of a scam a while back) can either be faked, artificially created (such as getting all of them to fill page 2, then putting a lot of things from your vault back into your hoard so they are on page 3, etc.), or even not your own hoard. Feel free to suggest any ways to improve this idea, obstacles it may encounter, support for it to gauge how much of a demand there is for it, or any other comments or questions! Remember that Suggestions forums rules don't allow posts containing only "support" or "no support" (or a quote containing at most that). I hope this is helpful to everyone! Which proposal(s) would be best? Please explain why.

A toggle options for Hoard/Vault (default hidden)
A gallery
Several galleries, with gem unlockables beyond the first one or few [See LilyScarlett's drawing above]
Personal showcases for dragons (In addition to another of the proposals?)
Incorporate the dragon showcases directly into another proposal, such as by allowing the gallery tabs to be named and given descriptions so they can serve that purpose
Something else? Nothing at all?
If and when this is first implemented, it is important that the default is set to private for all members.
^ I'm glad to see this mentioned, because it would be my number one criteria for supporting this. I think this is a good idea though! I'd like a seperate set of options each for the regular hoard and for the vault, so I can easily show off one but not the other. I would also like to see smaller gallery-style personal hoards for each dragon, in addition to this.

Support!

(I just came to this board to ask after any suggestions along this line, glad to find this!)

I think it would be convenient to have as a third option along with Hoard and Vault; something along the line of Display Case, that sort of thing.

If it behaved like the Vault, except publicly accessible, it would be easy to move things in and out of it as desired. Also this way the Vault could remain a protected place for valuables, instead of having to dump everything not-for-sale into it every time you wanted parts of your Hoard to be publicly visible (and this might solve the issue of people accidentally flipping the public-private switch). ^.^
