Many players desire matching eye colors and that involves renting nests and loaning dragons. Difficult. How about contact lenses in the colors of the 11 flights?

“May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks.”
I'd support contact lenses for non-flight colours if that makes sense? So a different shade of brown from Earth, etc. I think that could be a cool alternative, and at any rate I would definitely prefer coloured contacts over being able to change a dragon's element since I believe a dragon's element shouldn't be changed.

Like Chespin I support for non flight colors. Even though the dragon cannot be sold (as the contacts are apparel) it could still be too easy to try to scam someone (I NEVER look at the element of the dragons I am buying *Sigh* I really need to start doing that, though I don't buy off the dragon sales forum), plus I do like the idea that flight colors are always going to be on the dragons that are of that particular element.

Same here for non flight colors. Even though it does take work to find a nest to rent, there are plenty of players who are willing to for free. But the dragon's element is really lore important so I don't think it should be changed.

No support in any way. Few reasons:
1) They'd be nigh-useless on any breed other than Spirals or Eternally Youthful dergs. The eyes are tiny on 90% of dragons, so patterns would be smears on dragons with small eyes. The only reasonable contact design would be solid colours. Virtually all the responses above say that the contacts shouldn't come in existing elemental colours, and I agree. But even with all that aside:
2) It won't happen. The admins have said, many times, that they are not going to mess with eye colours. They just aren't. I know, that's a lame reason, but it's a reason. It's been asked. Answer's no.
3) Lore. Eyes=element. End of story. There's no super-special "extra" element, nor is there such a thing as "no" element. The lore states that eyes=element, directly and infallibly. The only way around this is to in-lore state that the contacts are just that--contacts. But that's anachronistic to say the least.

Actually making Contact lenses would not mess with the eye color it would be adding a apparel item that changes color. It would be no difference than the colored glasses we have now that cover the eyes.

No support.
Eye color represents a dragons flight in lore, and I don't see a reason to go against the lore just for something that's entirely cosmetic and on some breeds, incredibly difficult to see anyways. The lore is the established "rules" of how things work in this dragon world, and I just don't think its right to go against it on a whim.

I support this. I get the argument with lore, but maybe dragons with coloured contact lenses can be from beast clans or something (I'm not big on lore so this is assuming that dragons can be a part of beast clans). Or maybe they are outsiders ashamed of their origins. Idk I don't think lore should be an issue in this decision honestly.
I agree that it should be only with colours not related to any flight though.

I support it for a number of reasons:
as was already stated, we already have colored glasses and goggles that hide a dragons eyes. I dont see why contacts would be different in any way.
also, the contacts are not changing the dragons element, so it wont affect the lore, either. That would, again, be like stating the goggles or glasses are changing the eye colors when that is blatantly untrue.
And for those who do not want an item that actually does change a dragons eye colors- then what are your views on boneyard tatters (makes them have green eyes) and the cowls (white/pupil-less eyes)? We already have items that change eye color so can we please stop acting like we dont?
As for dragons with tiny eyes- who cares? There is already apparel that does not mesh well/fit with other dragon parts ( the cropping of chest bandages/wraps on guardian males, for example). Not every item will fit perfectly with every dragon.
