Familiars become practically worthless after been awoken being used only to be put into the vault to keep them in the bestiary or give to Baldwin. Giving them an option to become apparel on a dragon would give them a use especially after all the bonding. Plus being able to keep a rare familiar with a dragon or a perfect dragon/familiar match together with out using up their familiar slot. Also would work as a good way to show off your awakened familiar hoard.
Note: The option for a familiar to be used as apparel would only be available if the familiar is marked as awaken in user's bestiary.
Also, it would be really nice to get a little marker on one's familiar to see if it's awakened or not to make it easier to organize.

I am not a big fan of having familiars as apparel as that would have to set a size for them and I like being able to imagine how big they are for myself but I do like the mentioned idea of familiar-themed apparel! Maybe have it as a rare drop when bonding with familiars that have reach awakened? I would give users a reason to go back and bond with awakened familiars.

Phenri you do bring up a good point, though keep in mind the dragon sizes too. A wartoad paired with a fae with the cannon size being around the same size as a guardian would completely dwarf the poor dragon. Or how a sparrowmouse is small enough to infest the walls of a lair, you wouldn't be able to see it on an imperial. The familiar's size would have to be adjusted to the sized of the dragon their paired with giving more of a range than a set size. Also one could make lore that the familiar is either freakishly big or small if you don't like the sizes given,
