TOPIC | [Concept Art] Primal->Incarnate/Awoken
1 2 3 4 5
As of now, the Primal eyes fall into two categories, which I'll call Incarnate (element is physically present, altering dragon's body) and Awoken (elemental magic is present as an "aura"). For example, Plague, Shadow, Nature, and Earth eyes are Incarnate. Light, Fire, Wind, and Ice are Awoken. The eyes largely making people ill to look at are Incarnate. Makes sense--foreign matter in, on, and replacing the eye is a pretty common horror trope. So, rough proposal (sorry, I'm not an artist): Split the current Primal eyes into Incarnate (on the left, available through an item similar to Glowing) and Awoken (on the right, replacing current Primal as rare eyes through breeding).

No more surprise body horror hatches
Awoken eyes are less likely to violently clash with project dragons
Incarnate eyes remain available for those of us who like them
Of course, I don't like proposing staff draws a new eye set. That's a lot of art! But I want this concept out there--that the root cause of the worst of the body horror is the physical presence of the element. So staff, if you're reading this and thinking about tweaking the eyes, there's my take: remove the foreign matter and remove the problem.

Support. Definitely feel like the body horror needs to be more optional. I'm okay with it but it's just....a little unsettling and I can imagine it's worse for those triggered by it.

I like this idea quite a bit, and agree with you that they seem able to be split into the two different types. I also really love your mockups!

Support! This would be a really nice edition to the update with it adding some variety to the elemental eyes (including how to acquire them, which I think in general is eventually going to be needed for eye types).

Support! These are super neat.

I actually really like that idea. It's a great concept on the body horror front and it opens up a lot of new ideas for people who like both types (or all types!)

I know it involves more art but I feel it might be worth it in this instance. (Plus it's just the eyes so I'd imagine it's easier to deal with than genes and apparel.)

I think one of my biggest issues with the primal eyes in terms of visual aesthetics is that they seem somewhat inconsistent between types, and this is a good way to fix that.

Wow support!
Your arts look so cool!!! I really hope they make some changes to the earth primal, because for dragons with small eyes, they look like some kind of skin diseas....

I would love these. I'm not triggered by body horror, but I'm not a fan of it, so this idea would be pretty neat and would give people more options for the eyes and make body horror optional.
