I've been thinking about this over the last few days but didn't really want to take the time to draw or write anything up:
There isn't equality across our flight's eye recolors.
As something that is intended as a fun extra or to potentially add value to a random hatchling it seems like it would be important that every flight be as equivalent as possible within their given ranges, as it is right now I feel some flights just came out ahead of the others.
There are 4 types of recolors for the uncommon-rare eyes: lighter than common, darker than common, slightly different hue, and accent color.
But not every flight was given this range, several get repeats and it makes them less interesting to hatch unfortunately. Several flight's rare eye is just a darker versions of another rarity, that doesn't seem special or exciting.
But instead of changing any eyes, I'd like to see another natural eye type added between unusual and rare, peculiar.
Doing that can even out the discrepancies between flights as well as give us 11 new colors to play with.
I did some examples to illustrate my point and tried to add what each flight was missing.
Also understand my examples are just suggestions on what it could look like, not what it should look like, if that makes any sense. They are meant to illustrate what I feel each flight is missing and how it could potentially be represented.
Ice - Missing lighter color
Water - missing lighter and accent color. (suggested yellow for sandy seabed)
Lightning - Missing hue change and lighter color, hue change makes it look like Wind, Water, or Ice so suggesting just lighter.
Wind - Missing lighter color
Nature - missing lighter color, but can look Windy. Special tweaks to still look foresty suggested too
Earth - Missing accent color (suggested blue based on open skys and gemstones in their pillar)
Light - missing hue change and accent color (suggested yellow-green accent based on grassy ruins)
Fire - Missing lighter color
Plague - Missing lighter color, but light red is just pink so instead suggested spooky eye
Arcane - Missing accent color (suggested light green based on The Focal Point)
Shadow - Missing accent color (suggested glow mushroom blue and to look mildly haunted.)
