I would really, REALLY love it if FR added commas to numbers on this site. I have dyscalculia and with numbers larger than 4 digits it takes me forever to work out what the actual number is with no commas in it. Browsing the AH gives me headaches. Commas p l e a s e

I have dyscalculia too.

No support anyway.

The site's been commaless for like, five years. Adding commas now would just make it harder for those of us who have gotten used to how things are.

Use your cursor to separate the number.

UK time. Sorry for timezone-related delays in responses. They/Them.
I do. Doesn't make it easier. And commas aren't that hard to adjust to when they're so common in everyday life.

It would be a good addition if the site adds the comma in for you, instead of you having to type it. Like if I'm putting something up for 1 million, I only need to type '1000000' and the site will fill the commas in for me and shows up as '1,000,000' as I type and as it's listed. But I do not support a system where you need to type in the commas yourself manually.

The reason for not wanting a need for players to type those commas manually, is because for some parts of the world, they use comma as a decimal place, and a dot as separator. So for them, 1 mil is '1.000.000' instead. So if we need to input these separators ourselves, it would confuse the system and some players where their habit is different. But if the separators are put in by the system automatically, it can eliminate the problem.

Would be nice, but i rather just be nice, counting zeros by threes. Too tedious to do commas for me

I think this is something that could be used for numbers generated by the site, if that makes sense.

I think the AH and marketplace could display numbers with commas for numbers greater than 999. A user would only have to type 1000 into the amount they want, but the listing says 1,000. Same thing could be used on the CR- I could type in "1000" to send, while the recipient sees "1,000"

As long as users don't have to manually put commas in order for the site to function, because that would be a nightmare, I support commas in places where FR could add them automatically without infringing on a user's freedom to write numbers with/without them (like the forums, PMs, dragon bios, or clan description).

Support here!

I've gotten good at discerning numbers but it's still confusing sometimes. Maybe even spaces? Such as 1 000 instead of 1000.

Just something to separate the numbers a little bit would be awesome.

Support for optional separators! So in the settings, we could change from spaces, decimals, commas, and no separation

Because I hate all forms of number separation and my math teachers hate me!

(But really though, commas bother me and I'd hate this if it wasn't optional)

I don't support spaces unless it was optional, I can't always tell there is a space, and so spaces would be much harder for me to focus on.

I support commas as separators, but I don't think it would be that hard to give players the ability to toggle between a few options. So, if it were only one separator we could have, I support commas, but I would rather give players the ability to choose the one that best suits them.

Edit: Also, I wouldn't support being required to use commas, but one thing that would be nice is if certain areas of the site could 'ignore' commas and decimals so that if you accidentally typed 1,000 it doesn't get cut off to 1. (I don't know if the new AH does this, but I am pretty sure I have heard of players doing this with the old AH and selling things for a great deal less because they automatically put the separator in).

HOwever, for site areas where no input is needed, I do feel that having separators would be a great edition. Right now I have 73608 gold on hand. When I glance at it, I often miss numbers making it seem I have a great deal less. However, seeing 73,608 would allow me to immediately see how much money I have on hand without having my eyes swim and struggle to focus on it.

[/quote] Gonna add in my take on this, specifically- It's actually far harder for me to quickly understand 73,608 than the other. It probably ties in to how I read numbers (which I've been told is weird) The comma is too much and messes me up in reading it. It takes longer for me to understand it than just 73608
