TOPIC | Enchanted egg
1 2
New egg that has a random chance of hatching a breed that is not a guardian/mirror/tundra/fae/bogsneak/nocturne (excluding imp unfortunately, but including coatl/wc)

How it's obtained?

One of these options, whatever seems as the most interesting one

1. Coli
2. Swip
3. Some weekly quest
4. Only during festivals obtainable in a certain interesting manner (fire festival = fire element enchanted egg)

What do you think?

I don't think its necessary. The item itself would predictably cost more than a normal unhatched egg on the user-driven market, and at that point you can already spend the money on an egg and a breed change scroll to get a Gen 1 of any species already.

Plus, including coatls and wildclaws would surely impact gem purchases, as it would introduce a non-gem way of obtaining Gen 1s of those breeds which doesn't seem fair or reasonable for FR. So if I supported this suggestion more, I would only suggest it be restricted to breeds that aren't imps or gem breeds anyways

Weekly or a monthly quest to obtain a different type of an egg would add a new activity hence keep players active/engaged - thats a positive thing 2. Gem purchase wouldn't suffer one bit if you ask me, coz whenever you're scrolling a dragon into a coatl/wc you're doing so as you want a wc with specific colors/genes, randomly colored wc that you hatched will not be a proper replacement for whatever it is you're breedchanging
Not necessary could be said about 90% of additions in the game IMO :)
That's not the point, but nice strawman. The point is whether or not what you suggested is worth the time and effort to put together.
1. Weekly or a monthly quest to obtain a different type of an egg would add a new activity hence keep players active/engaged - thats a positive thing
Except that's a lot of coding work, making something new from whole cloth like that. And I don't think a completely random dragon, even down to the breed, is going to be enough of a draw to get people playing it. Also, it'd tank the eggs prices if people can for sure get them regularly.
2. Granted if the cost of the scatters passes the cost of the breed scroll, the game made money, but that's an if, and especially if the new eggs become easier to get people could just trade new gen1s until they got the breed they wanted. To me this suggestion just messes with something that already works fine.

This is what we have breed scrolls for.

UK time. Sorry for timezone-related delays in responses. They/Them.
I think it's an interesting idea, particularly making the eggs only available by gathering/the coli during each flight's festival.

Personally, I think the site would benefit more by just adding the Wildclaw scrolls permanently to the site, like Coatl Scrolls are, but I don't see how this suggestion would be detrimental to gameplay provided that the egg drops were quite rare.

Sorry, no support.

1. I like the idea that you can obtain breeds in different ways. It makes each breed more distinct from each other. Plentifuls can be obtained through eggs found 'randomly around the site' (yes, pretty much only two places, but since those are probably the two most frequented places...). Bogs and Nocturnes through eggs either created or found only during a specific period. Imps not at all, and the rest through breed change scrolls only.

2. I really don't see the point. This could really devalue plentiful eggs as they are/would be much harder to find and contain only plentifuls, while the other eggs are/would be easier to find and contain any dragon except imps.

3. I think this could cause a drop in breed change scroll purchases, which is something I really don't think is needed as those are good treasure sinks/income sources.

4. If the eggs were rare like regular eggs, I doubt anyone would really be interested in them, thus why take the time to code it, when they can be working on different coding.

I think it sounds cool- but honestly I think it could and would be just as interesting without wildclaws/coatls :) that way we could avoid the gem problem altogether.

That leaves a lot of cool breeds. Skydancers/ridgebacks/pearlcatchers/snappers/spirals.

Whether or not adding wildclaws/coatls into the mix would effect the gem economy would be heavily dependent on how rare they are. If their rarity from an unhatched egg is equivalent to their breeding odds (for example if you breed a spiral with a coatl you have a 1% chance per egg of hatching a coatl) then it'd be fine. No one would be like "I'll just buy 100 eggs instead of a coatl scroll since I statistically have a 1% chance of hatching a coatl that's paired with a spiral". There would just be no logical reason to favor the eggs over the scrolls. Gem sales wouldn't be effected especially if the eggs are rare and expensive.

I just think more eggs sounds cool, it is a fun idea. :D

honestly only really like the idea of a weekly/monthly quest. it'd be nice to have incentive to do stuff, but i don't think it warrants a new egg (unless there were a quest exclusive breed)

I don't see the necessarity nor anything new and exciting coming out of this suggestion. We allready have randomized eggs. Addinge another that does exactly the same thing seems... bland somehow. If the only difference is rarity tires of dragons you can allready get elsewhere this is underwhelming.

If a new slew of breeds is ever introduced at the same time a randomized egg for those would be fun.
