Whenever a new gene comes out in the marketplace, I'm never able to get one because they've all been bought out. Maybe for the first day they're released everyone has the chance to buy at least one scroll? After they buy their first one or they cant buy one on the first day the marketplace would go back to normal and their would only be a limited amount you can buy. I think it could be nice because then everyone has a chance to get at least one scroll.

So basically either up the chances the item will appear in the market akin to the upped chances of the Firefly gene with Swipp when it was introduced, OR, for 24 hours (or maybe 3 days at max) there could be an unlimited supply like in the gem market place and after the time period is up, they list themselves like normal items?
I could support either option really.

They're already released in large quantities in the MP in the first weeks or so.

No support for multiple reasons.
-A lot of players enjoy making their money by reselling new and/or rare releases. Interfering with the restocker economy removes a major gameplay element and will upset a huge portion of players.
- The current system is already 'fair' enough. Any player can attempt to get a copy of the new genes by lurking in the marketplace.
- Marketplace genes already lose their value within a couple weeks of release. Making them available to everyone on release would instantly devalue them. (If you want an example of that, look at Smirch. The price dropped to 20kt by the end of the first week.)
- Plenty of genes already are already available to everyone who can afford them on the first day. ( Gem genes and Baldwin genes.) The difficulty of affording those day-one genes keeps them valuable and gives players something to work toward.
- There's no compelling reason for this change. Waiting a few weeks for the AH and marketplace prices to reach equilibrium isn't a major inconvenience or unfair.

If you want the gene in the first few days, then snipe for it. You can always buy it for more on the AH, or you can wait a week or two for the prices to go down, and the MP not to sell out in .5s.

I checked your account and you've been here since April. The only MP genes added since then have been Starmap (gem MP, infinite stock) and Ringlets (treasure MP). Are you looking in the
right places?
Python/Morph are coli drops (May)
Firefly is a Swipp trade (May)
As far as infinite restock of treasure genes, I'm not terribly keen on it. One of the few things keeping the price of dragons with new treasure genes up longer than 2 breeding cycles is the finite amount of restock. Also, this doesn't address people who couldn't log in that day or who don't have the treasure to buy.
Much like other things on this site that keep us coming back is not getting everything we want right away. For treasure genes it's restock and for gem genes it's price. I'd rather spend a little time instead of immediately reaching all my goals and having nothing to do.

Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in

I suck at sniping but I really don't mind waiting a few days after the initial release for the item to stick around longer in the MP / prices to go down in the AH, and if I mind waiting that much I'll ask someone I know with a dom shop, that's what they're there for and they're happy to take your business.

Treasure MP genes would be a more effective treasure sink if everyone got the opportunity to buy them directly from the MP. We'd see more impulse buys and fewer people waiting until the pre-gened hatchlings come out. We'd see fewer people relying on Dom shops, which stinks for Dom shops but benefits the site overall since that 15% discount is taken out of fewer copies of the gene.
