Hopping on the pro plague venue train here. I know lots of people can't stand gore and I get that. There is more to plague than just disease and disgust, there's war, hardship and survival. And lots and lots of bones.
While spooky I don't think bones would count as gore so hopefully most people would be ok with it. I drew inspiration from the elephant graveyard from Lion King. Please forgive the super sketchy art, I'm not a background artist.
The remains of an ancient ancestral war. Scattered upon the dray, arid sandstone are the remains of warriors and their broken weapons. The descendant of beastclan and monsters modified for war still lurk in the shadows.
Daytime:
Nighttime:
Enemies:
The beastclan and monsters are descendants of those modified for war and still bear traits of war. Much like dogs, certain desirable traits are favored and exaggerated to an excessive degree. There are also scavengers, often those looking for scrap steel.
Some quick enemy art
The scavengers:
The scrapcrab:
A curious crustacean that collects scrap metal and adds it to its shell, along with other knickknacks its collected.
The longneck raider:
Brave longnecks venture out into the dangerous unknown looking for high quality scrap metal to scavenge. They carry around large multi purpose crowbars, good for prying, digging, breaking bones and fighting off pesky dragons.
The boneweasel:
This little critter only eats bones, it's got a long tongue to slurp up all the delicious marrow within the bones. While small they can puff up their head crest and flex their long quills, if their visual threats don't work they will deliver a bone-crushing bite.
May do art later.
