TOPIC | Microholidays altrnate weekdays/weekends

I remember many people being disappointed around the Harvest that they couldn't grind much during the festival because their peak availability times were on the weekends, and it's great that the staff listened to them and has made the upcoming microholiday run over a long weekend to balance it out!

However, my availability is the polar opposite - Monday-Thursday is my best time for FR stuff, so I'll really only have one full day to take full advantage of Frigidfin. I'm probably in the minority here, but I doubt I'm completely alone.

Again, I do not begrudge this at all, because I already got to enjoy every day of the Harvest event.

However, I'm hopeful that every microholiday from now on doesn't fall over the same pattern.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind them lasting a full week, but I remember seeing a lot of objections to that idea, so possibly they could alternate between weekday and weekend stretches?

Support. My schedule looks similar to yours. Like you, I'm not upset about it because I got to enjoy Drakeharvest to its fullest, but I would like to see some variety.

It takes Twelve Years for one Imperial pair to produce a Primal-eyed offspring of a specific sex. Goal-based breeding is dead.
I am in the same boat, and fully support alternating.

Or could we just make it longer? 'micro holiday' as in 'not as much stuff' or just as 'has to be shorter than the duration of other festives'?

Cause workdays we got 5 WE 2 so crazy idea.. Why not let it start on Saturday and rund until sunday the following week? 4WE days and 5 workdays - should please everyone.

Support for alternating them

I was really disappointed that it was going to be on the weekend as mine are always extremely busy, which really stinks as I always need seafood for my coatls. That or Ekon's suggestion of just making it longer so both sides are happy.

Girlfriend of Azurodin,
I'd still be down for a full week - the complaint I recall seeing is that users would get burned out from grinding too long, but of course no one's obliged to do so every day, and that way people would be able to pick the days/times that suit their schedule best.

I wouldn't want a whole week, but I think 5 days would span enough time to give most folks a shot. But yes, alternating them seems like a good idea too. Not everyone works the same hours.
I think maybe sat-wed? best of both worlds.
Next month, I work 11 hour days (job+travel time) from sat-wed. I'm free on thurs and Friday. Worst of my world! D: Sat-Sunday being the standard weekend is all well and good, for people with traditional office jobs. But for anyone else who works either part time or has a job that is open 7-days a week, there's no such thing as a consistent "weekend". The best you can really plan for is that, somewhere within a 7-day span, they'll have a day or two off. I guess I don't see the harm in alternating things around or running them an entire week, just so that you're not alienating players with obligatory schedules they can't scoot away from. And at least in my case, I find the shorter mini-events more of a burn out than the longer events because I feel more pressure to do everything within a shorter time span. Especially in the case of "new event familiars only available during this time where you work every day ha ha!!"
