Goal: to make guests/lvl25 lending less hazardous from being lost or stolen
Enchant(dragon, date)
A cheap one-use item, permanent multi-use item, or chargeable item that can be applied to a dragon in your lair with a up-to-2-weeks date. This will put a teleportation to lair incoming! warning on your dragon, and replace your dragon's lair image with a teleport icon that reserves that dragon slot from being used by any other dragons. On the chosen date, if the dragon is in another lair, it will shed its apparel and familiar and be automatically transferred back into the reserved slot of the original lair. If the dragon is in the original lair during the date of activation, nothing will occur and the item will be used up. Enchanted dragons cannot be sold, exalted, or have any other scroll items used on them for fear of mixing magics, but they can be sent via one-way Crossroads or used in the coliseum.
The teleportation will be logged in Crossroads. Dragons that are progenitors, underfed, breeding, being sold, in a Crossroads, or in the Hibernal Lair cannot be enchanted.
I don't really want to get into discussion, so I probably won't reply to anything (please don't ping me lol), but feel free to talk about it! Breeding teleporting dragons was not included since if a dragon is on a nest by the teleportation date, how would that be resolved? (otherwise it is useful and would be included)

I fully support safe dragon lending! In regards to it being a teleportation, I'm fairly certain that goes against canon lore. Teleportation is possible, but only for very short distances. If I'm wrong on that, or there's a canon safe way to implement it, than support for this type of scroll!

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.

You kinda touched on the "breeding/being on a nest" part, and I'd like to suggest:
If you enchant a dragon to return, it's sent to another lair, bred, and then the recall would trigger while the dragon is on a nest, it instead triggers as soon as the dragon is removed from the nest.
There's still a chance of not getting your dragon back if the person refuses to incubate the nest or just leaves the site, but having a "this dragon was supposed to return to me, and I used the provided means of getting it back" at least makes your case stronger when going to the admin for help. I don't think there'd be any way to force the babies to teleport with the parent, but that's already a risk renters take as is right now, without any site-supported way of showing they did actually want the dragon back.
I've got my own set of 25s and haven't ever lent them, but I used to rent out nests on a near constant basis where 2-3 of my nests were in use by renters at any given time, so my experience on why people lend dragons is coming from that POV.
And I'm not sure about the lore regarding teleportation, but if it is only short distance, what's to say the lair they're in and going to is not only a short travel away, or that the game mechanics of "teleporting back" is just short little blip hops all the way back home?
(I don't think the exact name/vocabulary of the idea not being perfect invalidates the idea of "there should be a nice easy way to make sure your dragon come back to you", because that's a great idea and it can either get a new name (flying back? Traveling? Infiltrating the enemy, brb.) or the lore can get another news article about some tundra going "wooOOOOAAaaah we can teleport now" and suddenly lore changes to match the new feature.)

Seems like a few details need to be worked out, but it sounds very promising! I like the reserved spot. Uhm, maybe it can be astral projection.. that's very magical.
