Most dragons are all distantly related, and for some people who really want to plot out the family tree or a newer breed (like Bogsneaks or Nocturnes) bloodlines, it gets really annoying when there are 4 million unnamed dragons. It should be a rule, in my opinion, that upon hatching a dragon you must give it a name.

I know it works into a lot of peoples lores. But your dragons are basically temporary. They aren't just yours. Chances are, they will have babies, and at least one of them will be sold, or at least one of their children. You are probably going to sell off the dragon at some point. Scrolls of renaming are a hassle to get when you bought a gorgeous dragon and its name is unnamed one

Giving a dragon a name using the generator takes five seconds. Giving them a gender corresponding name takes fifteen at most, and really affects everyone.

And if you exalt unnamed dragons-- please stop. They most likely are related to someone, unless they are a gen one with no kids.

Pet's name: Rosette
there's no reason to force people to name dragons. i have permas sitting unnamed for months because i want to come up with a nice name for them and i'm taking my sweet time doing so.

the generator also has a ton of awful names in it, and i don't want to even temporarily name one of my dragons anything that's in it.

scrolls of renaming are super cheap, almost constantly available, and are easy to get. you can find them in the AH for a slight upmark (i think around 8g) or buy them wholesale off the MP; they usually stock in the 100s.

people can exalt unnamed dragons if they please. if you're upset because your hatchlings are exalted unnamed, either sell above fodder price (still has potential exalting), name them before selling (so they don't get weird, nasty names or are unnamed), or keep them forever so nobody else can disrupt your dragon's lineage.

eta also you've whacked the proverbial hornet's nest op please brace yourself

Actually, my dragons are my dragons. It doesn't matter whether or not their ancestors or their descendants are in some other person's lair. If a dragon is in my lair it is MY dragon.

NO ONE has any right to any part of dragons found in my lair, whether names, having children etc..

If the dragon is unnamed, you do NOT need a renaming scroll, you can just name it whenever you want. It is only when the dragon is named that you require a naming scroll, and once you get playing, renaming scrolls aren't that hard to get.

If you don't like unnamed dragons, name all of your dragons yourself, and don't go looking through their lineages. Because, if that dragon isn't in your lair, it doesn't belong to you and it is not your business what that person does with said dragon.

I am against all forms of forced naming, if someton wants to name their dragons, great, if they want unnamed, great. If someone wants to name all their dragons after spiders? Great, even though I hate spiders, even if they buy my dragons and rename them, that is their business, and not mine. I had the chance to dictate what that dragon's name is when I owned it, and when I sell it, I am acknowledging the chance that the dragon won't be exalted with the name I gave it.

There are many names I would love to change, not just unnamed, on my dragon's lineages, but why should I have the ability to do so? I never owned any of those dragons, I didn't exalt them, breed them, feed them etc... So, they never belong to me, and so I have no right to dicate to that other person what they do with their own dragons.

No support.

Unnamed is a perfectly valid name.

If you'd like me to name my dragons, I'd like you to name all of your dragons YEET.

If you'd like to guarantee your dragon gets a name, then:

I understand why people don’t want there dragons to go unnamed, and why they get angry when it happens, but you have to remember that once you sell, trade, or other wise get rid of a dragon, IT IS THEIRS TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WITH IT. If you don’t like the idea of someone exalting your dragons unnamed or letting them sit unnamed, name them before you sell them. Simple as that.
As for unnames in your dragons lineage, it’s wrong to dictate what their owners can and can’t do to there own dragon. If you don’t like what you see in the lineage, you just have to deal with it
Sorry for being so blunt, but this suggestion comes up ridiculously often.

Unless Unnamed gets freed up as a name no support.

My dragons are mine to do with what I want. Anyone buying from me knows what they get into and so do I. If they do not like that I am just as much a human player as they are with my own decisions for gameplay they are the ones that have the problem - not the game.

There is no need to fix anything that isn't broken.

I also find your way of downtalking other players playstiles sickening to the extreme. Including Some of the things you wrote in other threads makes for a very bad view of you. So please refrain from contacting me over this.

How about you keep your snout out of my lair, and worry about your own dragons? Once a dragon leaves your lair it is no longer yours! I have bought unnamed dragons for breeding projects, left them unnamed, and then exalted unnamed because I wanted the clean look, and because it was necessary for the fandragon I was creating. I have a beautiful blue Ridgeback on the first page of my lair that i dont think ill ever name. You have no right to tell me I'm somehow wrong in how Im playing, or that your playstyle is better due to your own arbitrary reasons. Let people do what they will with their dragons!

Unnamed dragons need love too! There is no shame in having unnamed permas, having dragons with unnamed parents and/or offspring, or exalting unnamed dragons! Leaving dragons unnamed is a perfectly valid playstyle!

I fell for it for a hot minute, but this is all such contradictory nonsense I have trouble believing OP is at all serious. Can't believe my dragons are being nationalized, owned by the whole site in spirit.
