Suggestions

I love many of the recent changes to the site, but the one thing that's unappealing is that the dragon thumbnails are so much smaller than before. I'm not as interested in looking at my lair anymore or anyone elses because of this. It was so convenient to look at the dragons in the larger thumbs instead of having to click on each one to see the details especially in the accents/skins. I don't go on the customization boards to comment on dragons as much either. It was just easier to scroll through someone's lair and pick which dragons I wanted a closer look at. It has made me not as excited about purchasing skins/accents too. I'm not sure anyone else feels this way, but I hope the thumbnails will be made larger at some point.

iirc someone did a comparison of the old lair v. the new one and found that the dragon sizes are actually the exact same. Also a note, this was before the hunger bar was de-biggified as well. People were comparing the new lair image with a separate dragon icon (or just remembering wrongly, I cannot recall) to get the size difference. However, I wouldn't be opposed to them making the images bigger. Although, this also means they'll probably have to change the size of the boxes to match. Otherwise, the already somewhat cramped gender symbols would be even more hidden. The box border would probably also need to change - Most have gotten used to the dragons 'escaping' their boxes now but making the dragon go even further out would probably cause more visual issues for those same people.

Hello and thank you for responding! I must say I still don't believe it haha. I don't happen to have a snapshot of the old lair, unfortunately, but the images, I'm still convinced, were a bit bigger before or maybe it's because the images look a bit blurry now compared to before. I just know I could see more detail. I don't know what it is then, but I'm not thrilled about looking at lairs like I was before. Thanks again!

I did a bit more digging and found some other comparisons that might showcase the issues.

I will mention, in that search I found that while I'm under the impression that the lair sprites have always been 100px by 100px - there ARE other sprites on site that are 127px by 127px. This would be the coli battle sprites!

But here are some comparisons!

[Note: The new lair image seems to be experiencing the blurry problem that was mentioned in the other thread - however, sizes still seem to be the same - there is some discussion in thread about it as well]

* Direct comparison between Lair IMG and Coli IMG

* Comparison with Nesting Ground IMG - which seemed to retain it's original size

Suffice to say there's probably more I can find but I think the majority of the visual differences comes from the box the dragons are in now.

In some ways it both adds and subtracts space - making the dragon itself appear differently. So that could be the issue.

It might be worth experimenting to see if you simply prefer them in the style of the old lair (full box) or if the new (half box) style.

As to the suggestion - I don't think I would mind the switch to the battle Sprites (going from 100px to 127px) but the boxes would all need to be redone again.

Alternatively they could change the sizes in a more specific manner (not just relying on the Coli sizes, etc) but it would still probably require more re-working. To be fair though, the Lair revamp is still very new, so they could still make big changes to the layout and design. So basically, it could still very well happen!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post all that. I really appreciate it! I can't believe it's just an optical illusion haha. I really do hope they make the dragon images a bit bigger or not as blurry at some point. That would be great as I love all the other changes. Thank you so much again! =)
