TOPIC | Please change the blooming gene's mats

Currently the pretty pink mums are unavaiable to most people and in my personal opinion, they should be changed to something that still requires alot of work but is avaiable to most people.

Ex. items from lower levels of scavenging, the flowers that drop from the foxes in the blooming grove, even if you want to bump the amount you need to get from 20 to something way higher, the flowers that drop in the training feilds

Just please, any critisism on how we can make this trade more balanced would be appreciated

Why does gathering then level up if nothing from higher item pools can be used in Swipp/Baldwin/etc? It is just a trade that requires high level gathering.

Why should people who have worked at getting their gathering leveled up not be rewarded for that? Gathering is more than scavenging for eggs, and it's nice when the site acknowledges that, and gives people reason to level their gathering.

I'll admit that I'm a little upset at how difficult to obtain this gene is (it seems odd compared to the low low prices of MP gao genes), but I also know that eventually, because of this gene, lots of people will start leveling up their foraging, more and more people will have dragons w the gene, and more and more dragons with the gene will eventually be on sale for pretty low prices. It's what happens with every new breed/gene, and it just comes down to the fact that these things take time, I think.

And on top of what the others have said about gathering- I've seen several people already shell out the gems/treasure/money/materials it takes to get the gene. It wouldn't be fair to them :((

There's nothing wrong with the trade requiring a high level item. We need valuable, high level gathering drops to encourage players to level up. It’s not like it’s a limited time swipp and having something to work towards is good. Not everything needs to be available right away. If you don’t want to spend the time leveling up you can always purchase them from players who have done so.

At most I could see dropping the number required for the trade since it is a relatively high star item and a high level

Everyone can level up their foraging over time. Claiming these are not available to people is false. Players that aren't a high enough level are just going to need to decide if getting the mums via gathering is a priority or not
they should be changed to something that still requires alot of work but is avaiable to most people.
To make it available to all people, they should still have it be a gathering item, because games and coli aren't available to everyone. Maybe a plant? That way, you can gather food for your dragons while you work towards getting the item and you aren't wasting your time in the meanwhile. And to make it take a lot of work, it should probably be something with a low drop rate (4 stars?) and only drop at a high level or in only 4 venues, so that leveling up and gathering them does take a lot of work. I kinda like the idea of them starting to drop at level 34, in arcane, fire, ice, and water. [emoji=coatl tongue size=2] (no support, every single person on the site is capable of getting these flowers. They're extra accessible as it is! They do NOT require having lots of time to play every day, they do NOT require any skill at playing the game other than clicking a button 10-18 times a day, they drop completely randomly so everyone has the exact same odds of getting them, they do NOT require a coli team or devoting time to earning lots of money.)

I've seen seen mixed opinions over how rare the mums are. Some people have said they've not got more than 10 in years even when foraging a lot - if that's the case I think they should be lower rarity, I don't think it should take years to get a gene. I've been foraging in plague for ages for sand creepers and have about 15 of the blue mums, but I don't remember exactly how long this took me. Firefly also has a rare item but it's only one of them, and it's not terribly rare.

I think maybe it's best to see how it plays out? I think a lot of people will be predominantly foraging for a bit so we can see for sure how quickly you get can them.

FWIW the mums came out in February of 2018, no one has spent years trying to get them.

I don't think they should change the mats. At best they could consider reducing the number from 20 to maybe 15, but I don't lean one way or another on that.

There are other Swipp trades that require items of the same rarity as the mums also require 20 of that item (see: dragonfly fams), and some that require 40 (see: swan lake vista). There are also some that require more items of higher rarity (see: autumnal wreath). There's really nothing about the Blossom gene trade that's exceptionally difficult to complete when compared to other trades that require items of rarity similar to the mums.

The only argument to be made to the above paragraph is that items in those other trades can be obtained in lower gathering levels, thus making them less rare since more users can obtain them. But even then, it's a matter of personal opinion as to whether those who spent the time to level up their foraging deserve the exclusivity and if more rare items are needed in-game.
