TOPIC | Option to feed specific lair tabs
I love the Hibernation feature and how basically you can keep dragons without having to feed them and it not cost you your gathering turns.

However, I'm okay with taking the hit to gathering turns and other rewards especially as someone who isn't playing as much right now due to being busy. I just want to be able to still hack away at my breeding projects, which mostly involve coatls and wildclaws with breeding cooldowns over a month long, and being breeding project dragons they are often lowest priority for food (youngest).

This means I have to feed an entire lair of dragons just so I can breed these dragons once every 5 weeks. I find myself using most of my treasure buying food... when really I want to just feed 20 dragons out of my lair of over 100. I do not use the breeding mechanic for any of my permas and I don't use coli right now either so I have no need to feed the others, I just have no choice.

With the introduction of lair tabs I feel there's now a built in way to add priority, that isn't just based on seniority, to feeding dragons and I'd like to see that happen and I think it would enhance the game for me as I would be spending more treasure on new items and less on buying food that I only want for 1/5 of my dragons. I'm not sure exactly how the mechanic would work but it could work in the same way buying or hatching a dragon works, there's a "default" lair tab for that and there would be a default lair tab to feed first as well and then if one still has energy points the other tabs are fed too.

I mean, it sounds like the answer to this problem is to get more hibernal den slots and put all your non-breeding pairs there. Not feeding your dergs is the prize for unlocking HD slots.

Adding any sort of granularity to how feeding works at the moment would probably require a total rework coding-wise. Right now it's not made at all to handle anything other than everything at once.

Personally, I feel that, especially with the addition of Hibernal Den, food should remain part of the 'soft' cap for how many dragons a player can handle.

Basically, if a player wants a lot of dragons, they need to make choices as to whether they want to feed them, or put them in the den, or let them go down to 0 energy.

If something like this were allowed, then there would be a LOT more starving dragons on the AH (why bother feeding fodder?), food prices would most likely tank, since most players wouldn't bother feeding any dragons but their coliseum team and any breeders (and then only when needed).

It could also have a negative impact on the dragon market itself. I know I would be much less likely to buy several dragons, if I knew that they would all come starving, and many others might be the same way.

For some, the risk of losing their well fed bonus by buying one too many starving dragons might cause them to not want to buy dragons.

This would also impact the exalting market. Fodder dragons would have to be fed before they could be put into the coliseum, meaning that exalters are now taking a hit to their profits.

While there are starving dragons on the AH now, they are usually few and far between, and thus not something that would be likely to cost a person their well fed bonus, nor require a huge amount of food to feed before they can be trained etc..

I also would not want to see any sort of restriction placed on the AH itself, as that would also impact players' playstyles, and also make it harder for players who have starving dragons and just want to get rid of them to buy food (while we have the 45 day feeding thing, if you come back just before the 45 day limit is up, you still have to feed your dragons normally)

So you want to put in minimal effort due to your time constrictions and still be able to have fancy projects so you shouldn't have to feed dragons you don't want to? No support. Many of us have projects to pay for and we work our butts off feeding fodder and breeders and we chip away at our projects. If you do not want to feed the majority of your dragons put them in the HD. Most flights (if not all) have a food bank you could reach out to and with minimal dragons "Awake" you could with little effort feed them.

Stuff will one day go here.
As I always do with suggestions about feeding specific dragons, I'd fully support it as long as dragons couldn't be listed on the AH unless fully fed. This would include relisting. If you can choose which to feed, then you shouldn't dump off starving dragons on others.

No support, as I feel like this niche is already filled by the hibernal den.

I train and exalt for profit and I don't think it would be fair to add a system that lets cheapskate hatchling flippers help themselves to a chunk of my profits.

Why not just put all your dragons in the den and only take the ones you want to breed out? You wouldn't have to feed them all - only the breeding pairs in your lair.

a lot of people would starve their for sale dragons.
and with 300+ hibernation slots, just get more of those and cycle out your breeding pairs

I think people are not reading the mechanism I proposed (its the final few sentences) because under my proposed system we actually would gain the ability to feed younger dragons earlier than we do now. The current system we have by default puts youngest dragons (and coatls which have been bugged for years lol) last and that is by and large the bulk of the dragons people are selling. At worst, the new system would have fodder be the same priority they are already (lowest). At best, we could feed hatchlings first. I also specifically said a change in priority. Remaining food points would go to remaining dragons just like the current system. The only thing that changes is who gets fed first. I understand if others aren't interested/it's too niche. I just know it would enhance my gameplay so I figure I'd suggest it haha
So you want to put in minimal effort due to your time constrictions and still be able to have fancy projects so you shouldn't have to feed dragons you don't want to? I have been buying food I just don't want to. If my breeding project dragons happened to be 6 years old like my progens I wouldn't have this issue because they already would be prioritized so I could be just feeding them. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. It's fine if you wouldn't appreciate this option but there's no need to be vitriolic about it. it's pixel dragons...
