i was thinking about this and i was like hey
what about vistas
Overwatch (and like many other games) provide their top player base with a special player icon that marks that they have achieved something significant (whether its rank or being around for a long time)
this way, lots of people can see their Coliseum achievements but also this doesn't effect the economy cause they're clanbound!
you could make them shiny, or even animated. this is an easier alternative, but i think lots of people could enjoy it.

And would be awesome as a reward. It does not effect gameplay at all, except to show off in the forums. Although please no for the animation. x.x I turn off effects everywhere I can, if there's something animated just outside my direct line of site it draws too much attention or makes my eyes freak out and I block things liberally already to avoid them (like your little signature kitty, he's really cute, but oops nope, blocked so I could type without constantly seeing something move just above where I was trying to look.)

I prefer this over apparel as we already have similar things with familiar coloring and caption writing contests, plus they're a consumable so it's easy to get it out of your hoard.
I have a slight concern which should be easy to solve but definitely needs to be addressed, each use can only use a vista one time so having clan bound duplicates would be impossible to get rid of unless they could be hoard sold or used in Baldwin's brew. I just would hate to see that detail get over looked and some poor battle hungry soul ends up with a dozen identical vistas they can't use or get rid of crowding their hoard, especially since they don't stack.

PvP is akin to contests, you cannot sell the familiar coloring, or skin winner contests.
There is already a precedent for account-locked vistas that are gotten on MERIT. I don't see the difference between one for being good at PVP, and one for being good at coloring or wity for item captions

Clanbound vistas makes sense as a reward, especially if admins are determined to have clanbound prizes. There are already several vistas that are admin awarded and essentially function like a clanbound vista would. These vistas are rewards for winning contests or other merit based reasons

Before the addition of treasure marketplace vistas on the third(?) anniversary, all vistas were earned through various contests and accomplishments, so there's a definite precedent. Skin contest winners, familiar coloring contest winners, item description contest winners, current/previous staff, the MVP vista, etc. Plus, it's not like apparel, in that you can only use one copy of a vista per account, and since you can only show off one vista at a time (and most aren't to everyone's tastes) they're less useful/desirable overall and not likely to cause much conflict in the userbase.
However, I am concerned about hoard clutter in case folks get dupes and it's not possible to offload them.
Maybe there would be a way to trade the vista for PvP shop currency if they choose that as the PvP reward system? Or hoardsell them for a decent chunk of change since that would be a good incentive to PvP even if you've already got the vista (on the fence about this one, but I don't want them to just be trash stuff for the folks who already have it since they'd be highly desirable for some folks who don't have it yet).
Anyways, if this were to happen I'd like to see multiple ones for various tiers, and for more rankings than just top 10. E.g. Gold for first place, silver for top 5, bronze for top 10, others for top 25, top 50, top 100, etc.
