Have you ever done your food gathering for the day only to find that you got too much of one food type and not enough of the others? Ever forgotten which of your dragons eat what? Have no idea how much of each food you even need? Well do I have the idea for you!
My suggestion for the flight rising team is to perhaps add a small bar to the gathering screen that would have either how many of your dragons eat each type of food or how much of each food type you would need to feed all of your dragons each day. This would help you keep track of how many dragons you need to feed as you get to higher amounts of dragons and helps keep you from gathering the wrong kinds of food.

Never, no, and it depends on who I've got in my lair at any given time so I just keep a few thousand food points on hand.
I spend enough time in the coliseum to have enough food to feed my lair and enough to sell. I don't actually convert gathered food.
You will get better responses if you post this sort of thing in
Suggestions instead of Help.
Also, given that some dragons can eat different types of food this is a bit more complicated than it appears at first.

I don't have the biggest lair, and therefore not that many dragons to feed, but I could support something like this - I find visual aids a great help in keeping track of things. At the moment I just look at how much food I have of each category and try to gather roughly the right amount in order to finish with all categories having about an equal amount, but that obv doesn't mean that my dragons all eat equal amounts of each food type.
