I'm sure many of these have been suggested elsewhere, but I wanted to make a big list of forum improvements we really need. Most of these features are basic forum features on most other sites and it's odd that we don't have them here.
- A "My Bookmarks" section on the main forum page so we don't have to dig through user settings to get back to a thread we use all the time.
- Bookmarking and subscribing to threads being two separate features, so you can save a link to it without getting a ping every time someone replies.
- Having a little icon appear next to a topic you have replied to (this would be especially useful if you frequently sell dragons to people in the "Find a Dragon" forum)
- Going back to the topic you were posting in when you "cancel" a post instead the main forum page
- Threads you started are highlighted when you're browsing a forum
- Assuming bookmarks and subscriptions are separated as stated above, threads you start are automatically added to your bookmarks (but you can remove them if you don't want them there)
- An option to lock and unlock threads you created for commenting, so you can build your sales thread without someone accidentally posting
I'm not subbed so ping me if you want to talk to me

I like them all :D I think locking your own threads should only be ossible in sales forums though as opposed to all

All of these. Would appreciate such a huge improvement.

I like a lot of these, though bookmarking is easily done in your browser (and you can have a folder structure etc which FR is never likely to do) and I don't think the idea of being able to lock threads is a good one. If you put 'please don't post' people don't, and if you plan your thread you can create the number of posts you need before anyone's likely to have even looked. I generally make an extra one just to be sure.
EDIT: It's been pointed out to me that not everyone plays on a device that makes bookmarks feasible etc. I support non-ping subscriptions too!

Hecking support all of this, agreeing on the thread locking thing only being allowed in any sales, art, or anything creative of the sort.

I'm not sure letting players get anywhere near unlocking threads is a good idea. I suppose locking threads wouldn't be a real problem, considering that players can delete threads they started (when it works [emoji=guardian sad size=1])
@Vendrus: The point others have made to me on bookmarking is that not having an account-tied bookmark option doesn't work for some when they don't control the computer they play on or they play in multiple places or on different devices that they can't sync bookmarks for various reasons. That includes students playing at school, people playing at work and home, maybe someone has an iPhone and a Microsoft desktop, etc.
Add in that we already have the functionality: subscriptions, as long as you don't mind being pinged with every comment added to the bookmarked threads, and I can see why people want it.
Edit: missing words

That's fair enough! Having the extra functionality where you can, and a site approximation where you can't. Editing my previous post.

I support all of this, particularly the suggestion to bookmark a thread rather than subscribe.
