TOPIC | Mistral Mahjong: Seasonal Tiles
Mahjong is one of my favourite games, so I didn't really look at the "How to Play" section, and just clicked "Play Game." Usually, the seasonal/special tiles have some sort of boarder/slight colour or pattern variation on them to point that out, though I didn't see that there. Took some trial and errors to figure that out, so maybe a little bit of a background or boarder could be added to them?

This is more of a minor inconvenience more than anything, so please don't prioritize it if y'all think that it's actually worthy of happening.

Other than that slight inconvenience, it's a great game and I love the fact that it was added in the first place!

[center] I could see this being confusing for people who don't check rules first. I think if the seasonal ones were more uniform, like a tree: (pink one for spring?)[emoji=flowering tree size=1][emoji=autumn tree size=1][emoji=bare tree size=1] Maybe that could help? And the flowers, snow, etc, could be their own pairs, or removed so early players wouldn't be confused at the change.[/center]

Funny enough, I did check the How to Play section before giving it a spin because it's been so long since I last played Mahjong. Even with that, I kept trying to match seasonal tiles only with their visual match, because it took that long to realize they were the seasonal tiles >_>;;

A possible quick(?) fix would be to add small previews of the seasonal tiles directly beneath the Seasonal Tiles header in the How to Play section. Though I also like your idea of changing the background of giving them a border of some kind!

ngl i didn't realise they were the season tiles until i read this. Most of the time the seasonal tiles have some point of uniformity - borders, only one where the entire tile is taken up by the design, same thing different colour/only minor detail change are the go to here.

Yeah uh, same situation here, as a seasoned majong veteran I didn't bother checking how to play so it took me several games to realize 'wait wait, those are the seasonal tiles so I can match them all'. It doesn't help that the description of the game says

"pair identical symbol tiles"

So, yeah, some visual indicator they're a set would really help.

Also the fact the 8 of scratches, UNLIKE the 8 of bamboo in most majong sets, looks very visually similar to the 9. It trips me up a lot, haha, but I get why it;s like that I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Love the new game though A+ I've wasted so many hours of my life playing majong (both computer versions and real actual physical majong)

Co-signed. Some way to differentiate them from the regular tiles where you need an identical match. Or just make them require identical matches, whichever.
