It's a little tiring for me to keep having to relist my auctions and i'd like it if i could just put things on auction indefinitely. they don't have to be prioritized over timed sales obviously, or not even shown in the auction house in terms of dragons, but... yeah. id like to be able to put my dragons on auction permanently

How would this work with the AH sales tax?

I personally see no need for permanent listings, as permanent listings would just clog up the AH with overpriced listings. The expiring listings means people are more likely to reevaluate prices

Yes the sales tax is determined by the length of listing
A 1 day listing sales tax is 1%
A 3 day listing sales tax is 2%
A 7 day listing sales tax is 3%

If they aren’t listed is the AH it makes it difficult to find dragons for sale so I really don’t see the point. If you are advertising via the forums that’s what the crossroads are for

Sorry, but no support.

Being able to list something permanently means that eventually there will be a huge number of listings that simply aren't going to sell because they are overpriced and the users either left the site or they simply aren't checking the sells to reevaluate their pricing.

Plus, as dragonsage said, I really don't want to have to look in several different places to find the items/dragons I want to buy, nor try to figure out the lowest prices on things to sell and have to look in two or more different places.

If we had a system in the AH where the tax systematically went up by 1% every couple days or so, it would work.

So, if your auction was bought after 28 days, maybe you'll have something like 10% of the price shaven off for tax purpose. That would need a recoding of the AH, though

I like Corviknight's idea, where if you listed permanently the sales tax updates automatically as the listing ages, although that does have it's own problems. Where would the tax cap? Too high, and people will basically never use it. No one wants to finally sell something after a year and get taxed 90%. Too low, and the AH would be flooded with overpriced things before too long, and it'd just get worse and worse and worse because it could only ever accumulate.

How about couple Corviknight's idea of floating tax and a maximum listing time (max tax too)? Like a month or two? I doubt anyone wanting to list for long term really want them listed indefinitely, but more like don't want to worry about them for longer than 7 days. I mean, would you really want to put a dragon that you can't breed/dress/play on AH and eating your food for 3 years? :P

I really want an orange recolour of that one accent I have - problem, it's very rare, so there's only the blue version on AH. You know how long I've been seeing the same person relist and relist the same accent for their chosen inflated price? 1.5 years. 1.5 years of clogging the AH. No thank you.
