TOPIC | Dragon Bounty Board
1 2
What: A location where users can list up to 10 "bounties" for dragons that fit the user's criteria. This can include their gender, breed, flight, colors, genes etc. The user also lists the bounty price that will be paid in either treasure or gems. Other players can submit valid dragons that they own who fit the listed criteria and claim the bounty/exchange the dragon. Bounties should only last up to a week before having to be relisted (similar to auctions). Maybe when you check the bounty board you can click a 'scan lair' button to see if you have any qualifying dragons.

Why: Gives players a easier way to find dragons they want that may not be commonly found on the AH. Also allows players to check to see if anyone might be looking for the type of dragon(s) you have before exalting.

Allow me to re-iterate what my idea is more clearly since I believe my initial post was not clear enough in what i am suggesting.

- I am suggestion a scripted feature where Bounty Holders fill out a form (like the one used in AH dragon search) to explicitly state the exact things they want in a dragon. They can leave fields they dont care about blank or they can fill out everything from the color combo, breed, genes, gender, flight, etc. They then set the price they are willing to pay for a dragon that meets all of their required criteria. This price is either gems or treasure and is deducted and held so the user cannot spend it. A slot in their lair is also held until the bounty expires, is canceled or fufilled.

- One reason for this is because browsing a wanted forum board is not as efficient and is time consuming because it is not utilizing the same sort of strict search functionality that this feature would use. This feature would utilize the same search functionality that the AH/Dragon Search uses which means it searches the Bounty database. Users can browse it to get an idea of what people want or users can hit the "Scan for Valid Bounties" button which will automatically search the Bounty database and compare dragons in the users lair to find valid bounty matches.

- How simple or detailed the bounty is depends on who is posting it. If someone only cares about colors and gender but doesn't care about anything else then that user would leave those other options as blank/non applicable because they (the poster of the bounty) is only seeking a certain color combo + gender. It doesn't matter what genes/breed/flight/etc of the offered dragon is because the person posting the dragon didn't specify.

If you do, however, want for example a Antique/Chocolate/Dirt Male Skydancer with Poison/Seraph/Opal someone who owns a Antique/Dirt/Dirt Male Skydancer with Poison/Seraph/Opal cannot submit a claim for your bounty because their dragon doesn't qualify since it does not meet the exact criteria specified for this particular request. It MUST fit the specified criteria to be able to claim the bounty.

As a side note: I understand people think using dragon search and contacting people who do have a dragon that meets your criteria is possible but I do want to point out not everyone is comfortable with randomly sending or receiving messages about dragons they do not have listed for sale. I always feel bad approaching someone to buy a dragon that i want and I always worry that they'll think i'm trying to swindle them or that if they think they have a lot of wiggle room that they'll try to swindle me. Having price already upfront and the system being automatic eliminates this entirely. It also saves a ton of time because you wont spend hours sending messages to a bunch of potentially inactive people.

Could be a cool addition to the AH, I think. The fact that a discussion board exists really has no bearing on the suggestion as an additional AH function, in my opinion. They serve similar functions without having to bump a thread or wade through dragons that don't fit your specifications. The limit seems reasonable to me, and it would be really useful to have for those really rare combos that you need to have a "right place, right time" thing going for the forums to work. A limited number of players use the forums. I'd imagine most every player uses the AH.

I support this, especially with how forum works and much less people use them, as well as the constant annoyance of players offering dragons that don't fit the criteria at all. This would save the searcher a lot of time and frustration of replying to refuse an offer. A search lair option is also great for those who offers to find ones fit quickly.

We can refine this suggestion even more. So for searchers they can list their bounties; and for offerers they can do a search of the bounty board to see if anyone's looking for something specific that they're selling. Even if the bounty amount isn't ideal, this can open a conversation between potential seller and buyer knowing both parties have the intetest to make a trade work.
Already exists! http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drw
I understand that a forum board exists but there isn't a quick, easy or automatic way to easily browse and accept those. I for one am not about to spend the better part of my evening wading through a bunch of posts that are likely full of numerous graphics and different formatting to maybe find out if someone has what i am looking for. Having a new scripted feature that allows users to select the criteria they want, their price in gems/treasure and list it (think searching AH. Dropdown menus etc) and post that bounty for up to 7 days so that other can either browse bounties, search them via a form like the AH or click a 'scan lair' button to see if you have any dragons who qualify for existing bounties would be so much faster and more efficient. I know i used the term 'Bounty Board' but i dont mean a forum board. I just thought it would be a nifty name for a scripted feature. Since y'know...you're placing a bounty (for example) for a Antique/Chocolate/Dirt.

I think this would be great! Would make it a lot easier to find project dragons :) this should totally be part of the AH
And how would the bounty be given? Because let's take Crossroads, if you don't have the amount of treasure/gems you put in there, you can't accept the trade
I think, it should take the treasure/gems just like how it takes items out of your hoard when you put them on the AH
That way, you can't spend the treasure/gems but it's not gone yet either. You get it back when the time's up or you cancel

When you list a bounty the treasure/gems goes into "holding" so it cant be spent but is returned if the bounty expires or if someone submits a valid dragon then the payment goes to them and the dragon goes to the bounty poster.

Here's a problem with this idea: it absolutely mirrors either Dragon Search or Dragons Wanted forum.

- the searcher knows exactly what they want (for example, "female G1, red primary, black/midnight/mulberry secondary): use Dragon search and contact whoever has a matching dragon because bounties do not guarantee that whoever has that dragon will be interested in browsing/searching through thousands of listings for each of the dozens of dragons they might own. That is, the current holder might think that the combo is an automatic fodder or not interesting and won't even look at the bounties.
- the searchers parameters are broad (for example, "green-range primary/secondary/tertiary"): again, use Dragon search or the AH because there might be hundreds of valid dragons, so the first submitted dragon might not be the exact best dragon.
- the searcher doesn't know what they want (for example, "something autumn-y"): use Dragons wanted because there are too many possible combos.
This is pretty much why I don't support something like this. Buyers and sellers already have fairly powerful tools in order to find people who want their specific dragons, and this would be bascially a duplicate mechanic. While sellers might not have as broad of categories for finding a buyer who is looking for exactly what they, the seller can list that dragon for above fodder price, and if a buyer is looking for that dragon, they can then find it, and negotiate for it if it is too expensive or buy it. Redwillia also brings up a good point, and one that I was struggling to put into words. If this is an automatic thing, ie the seller looks through the bounty and sees a bounty their dragon matches and the dragon is automatically bought, that brings up several problems. 1. First and foremost, how would it handle things like lair space and money. Someone puts up a bounty, has 5 slots open at that time, has enough money for the dragon, but their bounty isn't claimed until it is nearly expired. In that time (7 days), that user has nested a pair of dragons, or maybe two, and all their slots are filled, or they bought dragons that match the criteria better, but leave the bounty up, or they just don't have the money on hand to buy that dragon. 2. Unless each bounty had to be extremely specific, multiple dragons could answer the same bounty, and since it would be on a first come first serve basis I assume, the first person to see that bounty might not have the best dragon fit. 3. If each bounty could be relatively general, I could easily see people with normally fodder dragons that just barely match the bounty going through and filling each bounty they can in order to get the money. As said above, buyers have a very powerful tool in both the AH search and the regular dragon search, and if that fails they can create a thread on the various dragon oriented boards in order to find what they want. For sellers, they don't have as many tools, but they can still sell for above fodder price, or put threads up in the forums so that players who are looking for those specific traits on a dragon can find them.

Simply, using the AH would be useful to more people. The numbers of users of flight riding are hardly represented of the forums. Virtually everyone uses the AH. Also, I'm imagining it functioning like a two-way crossroads, so your first two points make no sense.
