Clan of the Named

In the largest part of the Windswept Plateau, the Clan of the Named resides proudly, a place where dragons of all backgrounds may live in harmony and work to understand their true potential. Although most outsiders do not understand the significance, the names given to the clan members by NameGiver are a product of careful determination. NameGiver looks into the soul of each and every member of her clan, and gives them a name that is a reflection of the dragon’s core. Their given names are essential to their place in the clan, and create a bond between members of the Clan of the Named.

NameGiver is the clan’s leader; the Fae is greatly respected, and all that know her know better than to take her small size for weakness. She takes great pride in giving each and every dragon in her clan a name that represents each dragon perfectly. She cares deeply for the dragons that she presides over, and she does everything in her power to keep all of them safe. She will defend her clan with all she has; her wrath is something to fear.

Second in command to NameGaver is Contemplation. Each night, she combs over all of the day’s events, hoping to determine what they’ve achieved each day, and what they need to improve on. Although she has the responsibility of being the clan’s deputy, she also has a playful side, and has been known to play a prank or two. Still, she’s always true to her responsibilities, and is well-respected among the clan.

For such an organized group of dragons, the Clan of the Named takes great pride in the ability of their scribe. Said scribe is an incredibly clever Wildclaw named Knowledge. He takes great care in his work, and is always prepared to document or report any important ongoings of the clan, as well as keeping a neat list of each clan member and their given names. He has a superb memory, and is able to recall even minute details without having to look them up.

Verdict the Skydancer is in charge of the clan’s items; she keeps track of the funds that come in and out of the clan, as well as maintaining the hoard and the vault. Although this duty is respectable, she is better known for her sharp judgment; her word is almost always final, and she keeps track of the outcomes of each conflict within the clan, carefully recording each win or loss.

Although the dragons of the Clan of the Named remain resolute in their principals and purposes, they are connected through their bond to the NameGiver. However, her role in the clan’s destiny is no more permanent than that of any dragon. She founded the Clan of the Name when she arrived with her now-deceased mate; and NameGiver, too, will eventually die of the disease that took the life of her beloved. When the time is right, she will name a new NameGiver, so that the Clan of the Named may live on once she has gone.

Hey babe I've been good. Just chilling out and pretending to do homework. I'm finally over my cold. It was a bad week trying to wake up early for hospital shifts and then coughing up a lung in front of patients.

I didn't do anything on Halloween. Still kind of sick though and nearly hacked up a lung in the hospital. Some nice patients brought in candy I can't yet eat (makes me cough yay)
