CLAN AUSESYNE The Ausesyne are as clandestine as a furtive glance, a whisper among a crowd, a meeting between two lovers embracing in the night. They are a clan based on the ephemeral existence of memory, and the hope that the esoteric will blossom into something greater. • clandestine • the flight of fancy • chimera • handwriting on wall • Names carry a deep meaning among the Ausesyne, standing as a symbol of one’s existence in life. A name is a lasting tale crystallizing in life and remaining as a monument, a sermon to their presence. A different name is a mirror of the original, the festering lashes of one’s impact on the throat of another. As such, the name of the Ausesyne was derived from a variety of phrases so as to portray the core of their beliefs. From the title “auld lang syne,” translating directly to “old long since” and idiomatically used to mean “days gone by”--from the words aubade and serenade, meaning love songs for both the morning and the night---from the concept of zenosyne, the feeling of the passage of time--it is from these that the Ausesyne crafted their message. Since the dawn of life to the falling, there is something to be remembered for.

They're all old as hell or born from nothing; some of them exist as both; it's a wonder that any of them manage to look alive at all. Their name is always hidden, a slithering serpent, a distant raven; it is a whispered word that twists to fit your mouth, sounding not quite like the word "home" but more like "sanctuary." Various codes are used among different languages within Sornieth to speak their name, such as that which is spoken by coatls and indicated by fae, while some are common among different allies. Thus, the Ausesyne are known by many names: Snappers - The Unastad Nocturnes - The Eadomatry Pearlcatchers - The Olalia Imperials - The Alioris Faes - The Pareosa Guardians - The Bareno Skydancers - The Anselyst Ridgebacks - The Aisata Wildclaws - The Chrymesca Tundras - The Umriestic Mirrors - The Vitico Spirals - The Floraity Bogsneaks - The Chaorital Dragons that leave the realm of the Ausesyne, hidden in a crack in reality within the depths of the Starwood Strand, may only speak these names in place of the clan's true name. Once the true name of the clan is spoken by the lost within the Strand, its location becomes revealed.
