Preferring the low light of his photography workshop to the actual subjects of what his lens finds itself facing, the introverted photographer Cowsplat nonetheless travels across the deep, interconnected mine systems of Dragonhome, taking photographs of mine workers, natural phenomena, daily life, and gemstones. He is currently researching photography's practical application to art, and is unsure where he will find himself next after his research in Dragonhome is exhausted. His interest in photography first started with his upbringing within the Arcane clan Mavenlark, where photography was first crudely engineered by use of magic and glassworks. His "camera" is a tempered glass cube with a small, magically infused crystal inside. When he forces some of his own magic through the system, it manipulates the crystal inside to "capture" the magical energies of where it is focused and stores it, where he can later develop them in his darkroom - coaxing the crystal into releasing the energies into a malleable photograph. Photography is a relatively unexplored, new art within the world of Soreinth, with many dergs not understanding the concept of it - how can anything instantly replicate the world within a small frame? Cowsplat finds his work to be misunderstood and feared by some more wary dergs, who don't fancy themselves being captured by any sort of magical device they don't understand. But more often than not, he finds curious dergs who are more than willing to pose, work, and smile for his camera. Whether his personality permits it or not, Cowsplat is at the forefront of this new craft, and history will remember him for it. According to his proud father Ark at least, who's often in the business of bragging about his many children, anyway.

• he maintains his mane at a shorter length than most tundras, which keeps it soft and fluffy without damaging the hairs • when he first transitioned he wanted a more serious name, but while he searched for one he went by an old nickname some friends in his birth clan came up with and it stuck by the time he found a replacement (he chose the name Marlow, but even he hardly uses it)
