Biography

Pale light softly shimmered on the brambleberry bushes, the small spring waters glimmering a clear aqua as if illuminated from underneath. High above the stars twinkled as the ghost made her last check around the perimeters, securing the clan lands with her war sisters. Her duty tonight was to search the forest area closing in on their territory in the south, parts of the ruins they use as home are still claimed by the woods as was the spring. They weren't needing it yet, so they let it be. Opal didn't liked it, too many hiding options for intruders, too many dark corners. If she weren't a shadow dragon, she would had more trouble with it, it was why she sensed something strange, different than usual. Her senses lead her to the pond, her white hide reflecting the soft jade light that ominously glows in it. And the light grew brighter and golden and out of the waters emerged a dragon, dark and mysterious, carrying the moon on her back and her belly showing the same soft aqua glow the spring usually had.

For a moment Opal thought that the spirit of this land has arrived to punish them for taking it, but the giant imperial lady just smiled at her with such honesty that the skydancer nearly dropped her defense.
"Don't shy away, dear sister. Our Lady has lead me here." Her voice chimes against the deathful stillness of night, seemingly so loud that it should have alarmed everyone in the clan. Yet.. She couldn't hear anyone else, feel no other presence closing in.
"INTRUDER!", she barked. Her own voice felt so small and weak against the imperials, but it provoked a reaction. The moonlit Imperial stepped a bit back, surprise in her eyes as the little skydancer puffed herself up, ready to attack if necessary, and shortly after wingbeats could be heard. With a big swosh a bogsneak broke through the bushes that hid the pond, another more quiet swosh announced the second war sister arriving, her feathered wings barely beating against the wind and she grinned.
"Oh, has this big fat snake scared you, my dearest ghost?" Appleberry chuckled before she landed next to Opal, making sure she was unharmed. Meanwhile Violetta smelled the air around the trespasser, raising her eyebrow under the hood.
"Huh, I smell earth and sludge.. and the stink of the forum.. How did you come here? Who are you and why have you come here?!"

More confidant to find a listener here, the imperial carefully stepped closer again, her voice ringing clear like a bell. "My name is Aridatha, Lady Shadowbinder has sent me here. Through these waters are tunnels leading nearly all the way to the Forum of the Obscured Crescent and other ways as well. Many junctions lie between my origin and my destination, I have not explored them, I was to only follow a certain path. This one I can show you if you like."
Slowly she opens her book to the latest pages where she had described and sketched the tunnels she had taken here. None of the sisters here were able to verify her claims, but the imperial was too determined to just give up now she had found what she was searching so long for.

The war sisters knew their best swimmer wouldn't leave the safety of her ocean waters and of the two water dragons only one might still be awake, so they decided to let her rest her under supervision and investigate in the morning.
When the sun started to rise above the horizon, Aridatha was already awake, eagerly awaiting the clanmatriarch, who was to determine her fate based on what her clanmates found. Opal had stayed the whole night with her, watched over her with utmost suspicion, now she lead her back towards the spring. They were joined by Violetta and an old coatl with a black coat and many scars, it was obvious he was the veteran fighter of this clan. Next to the pond rested Sancari already expecting them as well as a small red Nocturne, nervously pacing around the waters. A moment later another Nocturne comes out of the water, pulling his googles up as his brother helps him out. Only with a second glance she noticed the small fae next to them, carefully listening to the tales of the chittering wet Nocturne and then she nodded towards the Guardian towering over them.
"At least a part of your tale seems to be true, there are caverns connected to this pond." She speaks calmly. "Some are connected to the ocean, I could hear the waves and smell the salt waters! And.. And Myanmar answered my call when I stuck my head in one of the many ponds there!" The wet purple Nocturne added.
Delighted by the enthusiasm of the little dragon, Aridatha smiled. "I did not know that, though I did notice a certain salty smell." Now addressing the clanmatriarch, her glance shortly flies over all the present dragons. "If you so wish, you can follow my instructions back to the forum, there may be danger on the way. I saw bones protruding from the earth in one of the closer tunnels and I could feel the presence of some other creatures there, though I was able to avoid them.
Nevertheless I promise you, I mean no harm upon this clan, no ill will or no secret plans for its downfall.. I just wish to find a home to live in, a clan to serve and nurture and friends that I can help. Would you kindly grant me this wish?"

Within a short span of time she became the springs guardian, bringing knowledge of ancient shadow rituals to the clan, but she found the most enjoyment in crafting enchantments. Some were just for show, like the one that projects the golden moon on her back, some helped the wearer in battle, others with their daily tasks.
The first one she had made was an improvement for Opals armor as a thank you for not outright attacking her. After a while Opal even warmed up to Aridatha, making her the first friend the skydancer made outside of her war sisters.
